Attention Parishioners:
After the breakfast group meeting recently,
there was discussion over the fact that the
cost of groceries has increased, therefore
to compensate for this rise in prices, the
cost of some breakfast items has increased.
However, the price of coffee and sweet
bread will remain the same. The new prices
will take effect beginning Sunday, Nov. 13.

participate in this years Christmas Pageant. All who participate will
be given a part. Auditions will be for the parts of: Mary, Joseph, Angel
Gabriel, shepards, angels, dancers, and narrators. Please come and share
your talents. Every child that comes will be assigned a role. Volunteers
are also needed to help coordinate the Pageant this year. For more

Project Angel Training on Saturday,
Nov. 12 from 9:30a.m. to 4:30p.m in the
San José Parish Hall. Our parish boundaries
has one of the highest abortion rates of any
part of the diocese and the state so this is a very
important issue for our parish. If YOU think
GOD may be calling you to befriend women
in need of emotional and spiritual support due
to a crisis pregnancy, JOIN US. Lunch and

3rd Edition of the Roman Missal in English
On the first Sunday of Advent (Nov. 27, 2011) a revised translation of the mass In English will
be implemented. The following is an example of a change that will occur in the translation of
the mass in English:
Gloria: NEW TRANSLATION
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we
bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God,
heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God,
Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you
take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the
Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone
are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
This retranslation was necessary because it is a more correct rendering of the Gloria in Latin.
Recent scholarship has recognized the need for a more precise translation capable of expressing
the full meaning of the Latin text. One part of the new translation that can be confusing is “peace
to people of good will”. Some see this as exclusive language, saying that God only wants to
give peace to people of good will rather than all people. The Church teaches everyone has free
will and so while God wishes all people to have peace only those who choose to accept that
peace can receive it.

A friend or relative of yours dies - you want
to do something to show that you care. Maybe
you take food to the family; you try to say
some comforting words. Flowers and plants
are expensive and they die too soon. What
about being a part of a perpetual Clerical
Endowment Fund Card for the deceased.
Give $5 and your name will be included in the
memorial to the family of the deceased. That
person will be remembered perpetually in the
Masses of our Bishop and in the prayers of
our Seminarians. That same $5 will be used to
help educate our Seminarians - future priests
who will serve us in this Diocese. Contact
