Corporate Sponsorship Opportunity Fiscal year 2016 Mission & Goals Our mission is to address the professional needs of our members and to build leaders that will shape the future of the accounting and finance professions with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors. • Goals o o o o o Attain 4 new Corporate Sponsorship Increase Membership to 60 members Secure internships for 50% of the student members Produce 4 Impactful Professional Development Events Develop an interactive website that benefits members and sponsors Professional Development • Professional Education (CPE) Credits o Professional members and corporate partners gain access to discounted and free CPE training on technical trends in accounting, finance and business along with non technical professional development seminars. • Certification Bound Initiative o Informational sessions to promote the pursuit of various certifications and development of partnerships with course providers to offer discounts to support members attaining their certification • E.g. Becker CPA Agreement offering $600 off the purchase of the full course • National Convention o NABA Convention is a one-stop shop for industry leaders to network with their peers, recruit talented professionals, conduct business, and showcase their products and services. o June 7-11, 2016 – Hollywood, FL Professional Membership Benefits • • • • • • • • • • CPE credit – local and national Networking Opportunities Civic Engagement Business Referrals Leadership Development Professional Development Regional Conferences National Convention Job Opportunities Community Partnership Discounts Student Chapter Development • Fall Day with NABA o o A one day professional development workshop to prepare the students of the NABA chapters at UCF and BCU for the Southern Region Student Conference. Some topics included Business Etiquette, Resume Review, Branding, and Mock Interviews September 5th in Orlando, FL • Southern Region Student Conference o o The focus of the conferences is primarily on career development and job placement. Interactive development sessions on topics such as Transitioning from Student to Professional, Chapter Leadership Development, and Dynamic Interviewing Skills are also provided. September 24-26th at the Marriott Atlanta Marquis • Spring Day with NABA – Regional Event o o Panel Discussion event where students are educated about a topic, provided with advice, and are able to network with professional members. February 2016 • NABA Awards Luncheon o o Annual reception attended by students, members, and corporate sponsors to award our volunteers, sponsors, and students for their outstanding commitment to service and academics. April 2016 Chapter Networking Events • NABA Family Day BBQ Events o Annual networking event for members, potential members, and corporate partners, to meet the incoming Board of Directors and learn about the benefits of membership. o July 25, 2015 & January 30, 2016 – held in Baldwin Park • Corporate Reception o An informational session presented by Board of Directors to promote the initiatives for the current year and encourage corporate sponsorships. o August 25, 2015 – sponsored by Robert Half International • Quarterly Membership Socials o Social events for our members and corporate sponsors to socialize and build their networks in a casual setting. • 4th Annual Holiday Party and Charity Outreach – December 2015 o Collaborative year end celebration with multiple professional organizations where attendees donate items to the selected community charity. Community Outreach Programs • 5th Annual Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP) o o A week long summer residency program that exposes minority high school sophomores and juniors to college life, financial literacy, and careers in accounting, finance, and business. July 12-17, 2015 on the University of Central Florida campus • 5th Annual Financial Literacy Workshop for KIDS! o o An annual financial workshop that is free and open to the public. Topics include: Credit Cards, Identity Theft, Budgeting, and Savings. April 2016 • 5th Annual IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program o o Participating volunteers are trained to prepare basic income tax returns for lowincome taxpayers free of charge.
