Five pupils from Year 9 were featured on BBC Radio Wales This
Morning for School Report section on the 10th of March.
As well as being interviewed the students helped produce and
contribute to the content on the Jason Mohammad Show, with the
whole programme being very Cowbridge focused.
The pupils involved:
Adam Durrant
Alice Coe
Jack Johnson
Livvey Wadsworth
Eve Demmer
You can listen to the podcast of the show by following this link:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b072nlxp#play
The pupils are on the whole show but there is a great report on Smart
Phones starting at 49.45 and a rather entertaining quiz with Mr Lewis at
35.30 with Jack Johnson.
The students were great and did the school proud.
Thanks to Mr J Taylor for organising and taking them!!
Cowbridge Comprehensive School celebrated the centenary of Roald Dahl,
in conjunction with World Book Day, with a fun packed week of lessons,
competitions and fancy dress.
Various departments were given Roald Dahl books to base a lesson on; we
had DT designing pheasant traps from Danny the Champion of the World,
EP were debating animal rights from The Magic Finger and Science
completed a very yummy experiment melting chocolate for Prince
Pondicherry's palace in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to name but a
few.
Key Stage Three pupils were also given the chance to be the lucky winner
of a golden ticket, allowing them early access to their delicious Roald Dahl
themed menu in the canteen, as well as a cookie.
Quizzes and competitions have been completed during form time and lesson
time and much fun was had dressing up as Roald Dahl characters on World
Book Day. Pupils also had the chance to complete a Roald Dahl treasure
hunt around the school dressed as their chosen character.
An extra special mention to Harry Treharne from Year 7, Dylan Andrews
from Year 8 and Eve Bird from Year 9 who are the winners of our 500
word short story competition titled 'Gremlins', based on one of Roald
Dahl's first stories ever written.
A big thank you to all pupils, parents and staff for their support and
donations to Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.

Apprenticeship Scheme 2016-17
Salary £15,934 per annum (in accordance with Living Wage)
Purpose of the post:
The Assembly Commission Apprenticeship scheme presents an exciting opportunity for individuals to learn and develop within a parliamentary place of
work. We are looking for four apprentices to work in various teams throughout
the Commission. Each will follow a carefully designed programme, working in
three areas for five month blocks, as well as taking part in short shadowing
placements with other teams across the organisation. Working within a supportive environment, the apprentices will be encouraged to use their skills and
contribute to team objectives to ensure that they are met in a timely and efficient manner.
