TEXAS OES RESCUE, INC
FOSTERING
Texas OES Rescue, Inc. Texas Old English
Sheepdog Rescue Incorporated, a
registered 501(c) 3 of the U.S. Internal
Revenue Code Corporation, is a group of
dedicated volunteers who give their time
and love to the rescued Sheepdogs who
come into the program. We receive Old
English Sheepdogs from both owner
surrenders and shelters. Additionally, we
coordinate with other rescue organizations
throughout the United States, it‘s territories,
Canada, and Mexico. We offer education
and support to all who care for and love this
breed. Many of our rescue Sheepdogs are
in good health, but for whatever reason,
need to find new homes. Occasionally, we
receive a dog in need of medical attention
who we nurse back to health prior to
placement.

Fostering is a key step in the
process of keeping previously
unwanted OES from being killed
and help them adjust to a healthy
domestic setting and ensure that it
will have a smooth and successful
transition into the life and home of
its new family
“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the
world will change forever.”

Texas OES Rescue would like to thank you for helping us help these precious
helpless dogs. There are not enough words to express how thankful we are to have
selfless people who have such great hearts and who are willing to open up your
homes to these, sometimes, troubled dogs
Introducing a new foster dog, correctly, will help
everyone know where they fit in the pack

SPAYI NG & NEUTERING:
All adult dogs will be spayed or neutered once settled in
the foster home. No puppies are to be spayed or
neutered until they are at least one year old (male) or
when the female has completed her second cycle. It is
much healthier for the dog to be altered once they have
matured. Owners will sign an agreement to our terms.

INTRODUCING A DOG TO POTENTIAL OWNERS
VETTING AND FOOD
When introducing your foster dog to potential
owners (PO) it is important to them. If the OES has
had trust issues with a particular gender, don’t allow
that gender to approach the dog. Keep it simple. Tell
the POs to IGNORE the dog. The dog will be curious
but IGNORE the dog.
Dogs should be vetted within 3 days of receiving
into foster. TXOESR will make all medical decisions
pertaining to the dog while in foster care and will
take care of the medical costs as they arise.
Never allow anyone to get in a dog’s face.
Only Premium dog food should be given to the
OES. TXOESR will pay for any dog food needed by
