Dear Parents,
Just in time for Halloween, llustrator, and local gem, Carlos Cotte will be visiting our school on
Tuesday, October 27th ,for 2nd and 3rd Spanish Program students. Mr. Cotte will be discussing in
Spanish the creative process of illustrating books. He will also read from Chumba La Cachumba. You
may pre-order autographed copies of his book through the school PTA. The books will be delivered to
your child’s classroom after the presentation. If you would like to place an order, please fill out the
form below and return it to your teacher, along with payment, no later than Monday, October 26th.

About the book : A witty poem in Spanish that teaches children how to tell time, as they revel with
dancing skeletons, which are depicted subtly as inhabitants of famous paintings.

is selling Advent Calendars to raise funds in
support of the German Language Programs at Sunset
Elementary, West Lab, G.W. Carver Middle and Coral
Reef High Schools.
Each calendar is filled with 24 pieces of delicious German
chocolate, one for each day leading to Christmas. The
decorative calendars make wonderful gifts.
Please return all order forms with your check enclosed – payable to GIPA – to
your homeroom teacher, latest by November 6th.
