A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Deer Park Families,

I wanted to start off this month with a huge THANK YOU to all that
attended our Ranger Round Up. What a great event for the whole family to
enjoy! ALL of the profits from RRU are going directly back into the classrooms, and I can’t wait to see what new things our teachers purchase for
their classrooms. In the newsletter is a thank you note from me to ALL of the
hard working PTA board members, parents, and staff that went above and
beyond to make this such a great event. I’ve also included our generous business sponsors and vendors that do so much for us. If you own a business and
would like to be part of the PTA next year, I hope you will reach out! There
are SO many ways our local businesses help us, and we couldn’t do our
events without them!
WHAT’S COMING UP
As we get into the final month of school, we kick off May with a
bang! May 4th-8th is Deer Park’s Staff Appreciation Week! There are events
scheduled each day, some through PTA, and some through the classroom. If
you have any questions about the days, please contact us! This is such a fun
way to say thanks to our amazing teachers, front office, specials (music, PE,
and art), media center, custodians, bus drivers, lunchroom staff, etc. The
PTA will be hosting three food events, and I would LOVE help with the food
donations. Look in the newsletter for more information, or email me, [email protected] if y o u w a nt to help.
Our families have been so wonderful this year, and the PTA and
Deer Park Staff are so excited to say THANKS to YOU! Please join us for our
annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, May 15th at 8:00 am in
the lunchroom. We will have a full breakfast and coffee bar for everyone, a
presentation to our Volunteer of the Year, a wonderful performance by our
Deer Park Percussion group, and we will also vote in the 2015-2016 PTA
Board. This will be a breakfast you DON’T want to miss! (younger siblings
are welcome to join us!)

starts on Friday, May 4th and will end on Monday,
May 11th. Sticks will be delivered that Wednesday to

RANGER ROUND UP GREAT SUCCESS!
I would like to take the time to thank the following people for
their part in making our annual Ranger Round Up a success.
Julie Porcelli, Suzanne Lowe, Dinny Lechman, Maia Farley,
Jen Wilkins, Heather and Preston Jennings, Brian Lingo, and Phil Trezza.
Mrs. Porebski, Mr. Findley, Manuel and his incredible custodial staff, our front office

DEER PARK'S NIGHT AT THE BALLPARK MAY 16TH
Join us in cheering on the Clearwater Threshers as they take on
the Daytona Tortugas Saturday, May 16th at Bright House Field.
Game starts at 6:30 pm and the gates open at 5. $15 ticket include all you can eat hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers,
peanuts, popcorn, chips, ice cream sandwiches, soft drinks, &
bottled water from 5-8 pm, post-game fireworks and more. Ages
4 & under are free. See the enclosed flyer and order your tickets
by May 8th. Tickets will be pre-order ONLY—no tickets
will be sold at the event! The fir st 50 students w ho purchase tickets will receive a spirit stick!
