Five years ago, owners Peter Alyward
(above, sitting) and Donald Moores opened
the shop with a small inventory. The goods
flew out the door so quickly, they knew they
had a good thing going. “The store intrigued people,” says Donald, something it
continues to do, thanks to the duo’s inspired
goods and coordinated displays.

Any St. John’s shopaholic worth her sea salt
will tell you Home on Water St. is the spot to
grab splendid home accents. After twacking
(Newfoundlander for “window shopping”)
on boutique-lined Water Street, we dropped
by the shop. It was elegantly stacked with
on-trend accessories at practical prices,
and local ladies were past merely twacking
– they were buying up a storm.
