You have chosen to take your holiday or a pleasant weekend away in the beautiful woodlands and dunes of Wassenaar. In addition to the beautiful surroundings, Duinrell offers you access during your stay to the exciting amusement park and tropical Tiki Pool waterslide paradise on its premises. Please read this at your leisure. If you have any questions, please let Duinrell’s reception know and we will help you to the best of our abilities. A to Z - a complete list of all practical information Access control The guards at the entrance check our guests for valid Duinrell ID entrance passes and car passes. You can always consult or call them in case of an accident, disturbance, First Aid, technical problem or other emergencies on: 0031 (0)70 5155 128 (available 24/7). Call 0031 (0)70 5155 333 in case of an emergency. Bicycle rental. Beach wagons, wheelchairs, buggy’s, family GoKarts and bike accessories are also available. You can buy or exchange gas canisters in a range of sizes at the bicycle rental. Rental is only possible with a valid Duinrell ID. On some articles a deposit applies. Look for the bicycle rental at the front of the holiday park, past the roundabout. Admission • Access to Duinrell is only possible by showing your Duinrell ID entrance pass with recent photo. • Access to Duinrell by car is only possible with a valid car pass. Camper waste dump Campers can dump their waste water at the camper waste dump at the beginning of the Duinrell estate (see the pictograph at the holiday park map). Adventure Mountain Adventure Mountain is located on Duinrell’s estate to the right of the Toboggan run. • Climbing forest High Ropes is a 7-meter high rope bridge circuit in the Duinrell woods. There are 18 different stations, finishing with a spectacular abseiling descent. • Low-Rope obstacle course This is a challenging course with various obstacles at a height of 50 cm. The ‘low rope bridge circuit’ consists of over 18 tasks that need to be completed without touching the ground. • (Longbow) archery Follow in Robin Hood’s footsteps! This is your chance. After an explanation of our instructors go shoot at the targets. Various distances and games are offered. • Runways From the zip line platform on top of Adventure Mountain, you will be treated to a fantastic view of Wassenaar and the surrounding area before descending 35 meters over a distance of 120 meters at a speed of 50 kph. Chemical toilet Every sanitary building is equipped with a dumping place for chemical toilets. Amusement park Entry to the amusement park is included in your stay (April November), also on the day of arrival and departure. For information about the attractions we refer to the map of the amusement park which is available for free at the Duinrell reception, at the register and at the information point at the Promenade. ATM machines You can pay by debit at the Duinrell Superstore in Duinrell Plaza and at the Duinrell-reception. You can also go to Wassenaar to the banks ABN AMRO, ING and Rabobank. Bicycle rental For a relaxing cycling trip, you can rent a bike of your choice at our Dentist For current information about dentists please ask our staff at the Duinrell reception. Deposit safe You can store your valuables in deposit safes at the Duinrell reception. These safes can be rented for € 1.- per day. A deposit of € 25.- is required. Disabled sanitary For the disabled, there is a specially adapted toilet and shower in the sanitary building on the Middenveld. You can get the key at the Duinrell reception desk with a € 25.- deposit. Doctor For current information about GP’s please ask our staff at the Duinrell reception. Dogs • Dogs can be walked on a leash in the woods and dune area behind the dune canal. • We request you to use the free doggy-do bags, available for free at the Duinrell reception. • Dogs are not allowed in the Duinhostel, Duinrell Superstore, the Tiki Pool and the restaurants. • Two pets are allowed in some special types of Duingalows. Electricity Most pitches have an electric hook-up of 220 volt power (Euro connection). It differs from 4 AMP (max consumption 880 watt ), 6 AMP (max consumption 1200 watt) to 10 AMP (max consump tion 2200 watt). Adapters are available at the Duinrell Superstore and at the Duinrell reception. The use of electric heaters is not permitted at the camp site. Entertainment During school holidays and weekends the Entertainment team offers loads of fun for young and old in Duinrell Plaza. The reception will provide you with the current programme, it is posted on information displays throughout the park and can be read at www.duinrell.com/entertainment. First Aid You will find a First Aid post at the Duinrell reception/porter’s lodge. This post is 24/7 available and has an AED at its disposal. For Tiki Pool guests there is a special First Aid post at the Tiki Pool. Guests By showing your Duinrell ID at the reception you can purchase visitor tickets for the reduced rate of € 15.- per person. On presentation of this ticket your guest will have access to the amusement park (April - October) for one day or unlimited access to the Tiki Pool (November - March). Houserules In order to make your stay and that of other guests as pleasant as possible, we have composed a number of rules and guidelines. By entering the Duinrell site you automatically indicate your acceptance of the Duinrell rules and regulations. Should the park rules be disobeyed, Duinrell is authorised to immediately deny the parties concerned entry or accommodation. Duinrell maintains a no refund policy. The full overview can be read at www.duinrell.com/houserules. Internet / Wi-Fi At the Duinrell reception and the Duinrell Superstore you can buy Internet tickets. Wi-Fi is available in all Duingalows, lodge tents, mobile homes, the Duinhostel and at the campsites Paardenwei, Romantisch Kamp, Middenveld, Eiland and Overloop. Maps At the Duinrell reception you can buy maps of: • The Hague € 6.95 • Amsterdam € 6.95 • Dutch road maps € 9.95 • Duinrell bicycle/walk maps € 3.95 • Bicycle maps with focal point € 6.50 Night rest We expect our guests to keep all noise to a minimum between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. During this time it is not allowed to enter the area with motor vehicles and to be present in the amusement park. Parking You may park one car free of charge per Lodge tent, Duingalow or campsite. Extra cars must be parked at car park P3 at a cost of € 4.- per car per night. It is obligatory to use a blue parking disc in the blue parking zones in Wassenaar. Petrol station The Tango petrol station is on the left side of Duinrell. Turn left at the exit and drive opposite the traffic lights. There is a Shell petrol station on the Rijksstraatweg (direction Leiden/Amsterdam N44), with extra facilities such as LPG and carwash. Pharmacy The pharmacy on the Langstraat 156 in Wassenaar is open on workdays from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Mediq pharmacy on the Hofcampweg 254 in Wassenaar is open on workdays from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. At the Duinrell reception you can inform about evening and weekend duties. Post • The mailboxes at the entrance of Duinrell and at Duinrell Plaza are emptied every day, except on Sundays and holidays. • The post office is located in the photo studio at the Langstraat, in Bruna at the van Hogendorpstraat and in the Albert Heijn at Stadhoudersplein. • We deliver your received post and telephone messages in the mail boxes at the Duinrell reception. Pub / Lounge • In the Duinrell Pub in Duinrell Plaza you can have a drink, watch live sporting events on the big screen and try your hand at Mini-Bowling and other games. We also have a range of special beers available. • The Lighthouse Lounge at the top of Duinrell Plaza is a relaxing place where you can enjoy a delicious cocktail, a wine or beer and refreshing soft drinks. Public transport • Direction The Hague (town centre)/Noordwijk and Nieuw Vennep: bus 90 from the Dr. Mansveltkade stop. • Direction The Hague: bus 44 and bus 444 (only in main season) departs from the Duinrell entrance stop. • Direction Leiden: bus 43 from the Van Oldenbarneveltweg stop. Exact times of departure for the buses are posted at the bus stops or plan your route via www.9292.nl/en. Supermarket You can buy anything you need for a pleasant stay at the Duinrell Superstore in Duinrell Plaza. There is a large choice of freshly baked bread, meat, fresh vegetables, dairy products, baby food, beach-, barbecue and camping equipment, etcetera. Restaurants Enjoy your holiday to the full with the 100% natural, fresh daily and homemade selection of La Place Restaurants. La Place Restaurant Duinrell Plaza offers coffee and pastries and delicious dinners, Buffetrestaurant Toscane offers a family buffet and for quick and easy meals you can go to Take away Duinrell Plaza. Every day there is a breakfast buffet in La Place restaurant Schaapskooi (Apr-Nov). See the back of the holiday park map for opening hours. During the opening hours of the amusement park you can visit the catering facilities of the amusement park as well, like the Take aways, Pancake restaurant De Carrousel, a Smulton or Sweets & Fun Shop. Shops Various stores are located at the Promenade of the amusement park where you can buy a Duinrell keepsake, Rick de Kikker souvenirs, gifts, a wax hand, (swimming) clothes and accessories among others. The shops are open when the amusement park is open. Sport & Games At holiday park Duinrell there are many options for an active stay: • Training circuit In the middle of the woods of estate Duinrell lies a training circuit for our active guests. Follow the complete circuit by the way of yellow stakes and meet the different obstacles. There are several exciting and sportive exercises to do. The training circuit is also suitable for a walk. Location: right side of the Toboggan run. Duration: 1 - 1.5 hours. • Play court At the play court nearby the Toboggan run you can play soccer, jeu de boules or volleyball (please bring your own ball). • Tennis Ready to hit some balls? There are two outdoor tennis courts. You can ask the Duinrell reception staff to reserve the courts and pick up the key (after opening hours at the porter’s lodge). The tennis courts are not lit. • Midget golf For € 1,- per person you can play 18 holes of mini golf during opening hours of the amusement park. (During the May holiday and Summer holiday the Midget golf is open till 9 p.m.). • Mini Bowling Practice your bowling techniques at the Mini Bowling alley in the Duinrell Pub. These are opened in the summer months June, July and August with good weather and are free of charge. See the T of Tikibad for the indoor pool. Tiki Pool The Tiki Pool is more than a tropical swimming pool. Its eleven unique slides make the Tiki Pool the largest covered waterslide paradise in the Benelux. We have several extra safety rules on top of those of regular swimming pools for the safety of you and your children. Please observe the following rules during your visit: • Wearing a floatation device (e.g. water wings) is mandatory for anyone under a height of 120 cm, even when he/she is in the possession of a swimming certificate. Besides good swimming skills it is important to have a minimum length to be defensible in the fast slides and flows. A floatation device is also mandatory for everyone who does not possess a swimming certificate. Water wings are available at the register at the Tiki Pool and from the Duinrell Superstore. Costs are € 5- (inserted in the machine per washing). The detergent is added automatically. It costs € 3.- per 18 minutes to use the dryers. Waste At Duinrell you will find waste disposal areas at various locations. We would kindly like to ask you to help us save the environment by separating your waste. Bins have been allocated for paper/cardboard waste (blue bins), glass waste (brown bins) and domestic waste (grey bins). Garbage bags are available for free at the Duinrell reception. Surprising and fun outings Children’s farm Wassenaar At this children’s farm there is a variety of animals: various breeds of sheep and goat, two pigs, a fjord horse, Shetland pony and a noble donkey. The rabbits and guinea pigs live in their own village. Birds fly in a beautiful aviary and the turkeys have their own field. The children’s farm is located in Weteringpark West at the Rodenburglaan 80 in Wassenaar. www.kinderboerderijwassenaar.nl SEA LIFE Scheveningen Take a visit to the SEA LIFE centre in Scheveningen and discover the fascinating and beautiful marine world. Louwman Museum The Louwman Museum in The Hague is home to the world’s oldest private collection of motor cars, compiled by two generations of the Louwman family. The museum comprises over two hundred and thirty antique and classic motor cars. Each car has its own story to tell, its own contribution to history. www.louwmanmuseum.nl Valkenburgse Meer Steam Train At cycling distance from Duinrell, the Valkenburg Lake Steam Train is situated by the Leiden-Zuid exit on the A44 motorway. Every Saturday and Sunday from Easter through the end of September, visitors can come here to take a ride on a steam train. During the summer holidays, the train also runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Your entrance ticket entitles you to two different train rides and a visit to the extensive indoor and outdoor museum, where Europe’s largest collection of historic narrow gauge railway equipment is on display. www.smalspoormuseum.nl Strandhuys De Gouden Bal ‘Strandhuys De Gouden Bal’ (Beach House the Golden Ball) is a pleasant beach café on the Wassenaarse Slag beach, a gorgeous family beach near Duinrell. This beach café has an extensive menu and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. When the weather’s nice, come and enjoy a drink on the patio, or make good use of the beach beds. The woods and dune area will entice you into taking lovely walks. Enjoy a lovely day at the beach or visit the country estates in Wassenaar on the road to Scheveningen. If you are in for a cultural day trip, Duinrell is also conveniently located near Leiden and The Hague. The Country Estate trail will take you to the most beautiful places. Road maps and cycling tips are available at the Duinrell reception and the Bicycle rental. For a relaxing cycling trip, you can rent a bike of your choice at our bike rental shop. Cities and beaches Wassenaar village (500 m) Wassenaar is one of the greenest coastal villages. The town centre is surrounded by woods, country estates and exclusive residential suburbs and supports a number of high end shops and terraces. Beach Wassenaarse Slag (4 km) Wassenaar has an 8 km long beach and vast sand dunes. The beach carries the Blue Flag. This represents an officially acknowledged clean and save beach. Turn left at the Duinrell exit and another left at the traffic lights to the Katwijkseweg. This road will change into the Wassenaarse Slag which will lead you to the sea. Scheveningen (11 km) Scheveningen is one of the Netherlands’ most famous seaside resorts. The beautiful North Sea beach, the boardwalk and the Pier are all worth a visit.
