I look forward to being with you in worship on Sunday. In both services, we will be sharing a time to bless backpacks and share backpack tags with children who are students, as well as with teachers. This is such a special time to encourage and support teachers and students. I am so grateful for this ministry of our church. Through Hearts and Hammers, we make a difference for Christ as make Christ’s love visible. There were ten men working at the site when I was there this morning. By lunchtime a wheelchair ramp was finished and ready to use. This morning they were building a ramp into the “Wesley House.” The “Wesley House” is across the street from the main campus ministry building of the Wesley Foundation. One of the young men who is active in the Wesley Foundation and lives in the Wesley House has physical limitations that require a ramp. The men of our Hearts and Hammers ministry shared their building expertise and their willing hearts to help open the opportunity for this young man to participate fully in this ministry of Wesley Foundation. My wife Sandy teaches at Arkansas Tech University, and this morning I drove her to work. While I was driving to the church, I turned onto El Paso Street by the ATU Wesley Foundation. I looked to the left and saw a group of men unloading lumber and tools. I looked again and realized it was the men of our church’s Hearts and Hammers ministry. Hearts and Hammers specializes in building wheelchair ramps to assist persons to enter and exit their homes in a wheelchair.
