The One Eyed Kitten
By: Shelby J.
Have you ever thought that there could be such a thing as a one eyed baby
kitten? Well, there was. It just happened last year, on December 28,2005. A
kitten was born in Oregon. The owner of this kitten named it Cy - short for
Cyclops. Her kitten was born with no nose and one eye, just like a Cyclops. The
owner, Traci Allen, sat with Cy all night feeding and taking care of it. Here is a
picture of Cy when he was just born.
Faculty Advisor:

Reflections
In the heat of
an argument, try
not to lose your
cool.
Traci Allen’s kitten was
born with no nose and
one eye.
Sadly, on December 29, 2006 Cy died. Meanwhile, Traci is keeping the body in
her freezer in case any scientists want to do research. Until scientists find
anything more about Cy the One Eyed Kitten, that is all for now.

Detroit Auto Show:
Live
This is Alec live from the Detroit Auto Show. I am at the
biggest auto show in the world to display 2006 - 2007
cars, trucks and concept cars. The cars I am going to talk
about are the most luxurious car and truck, the safest car
and truck, and the most powerful car and truck.
Let’s start out with the most luxurious car. That is the Rolls Royce Phantom. This car
has two different versions. The first one has a 100-inch wheel base. The price starts
at $356,345. The second version, new in 2007, has a 118-inch wheel base and is
priced at $405,567.
The most luxurious truck is the Land Rover Range Rover. This car comes in two
different versions. The first model is the HSE and the second model is the HSE
Supercharged. The price of the HSE starts at around $87,897 and the Supercharged
at $119,456. If you are looking for a luxurious car or truck, take my advice.
Now let’s go on to the safest car and truck. The safest car is the redesigned
Mercedes S class. The price of this car starts at $89,999. This car has three
different motors. That is the S430 that is $89,999, the S500 is $98,745 and the
fastest, the S55, is $123,567. These cars are the most safe, cool and fun cars.
The safest truck is the Volvo XC90. This car has two different models, and is
available in AWD $42,789 and the other one as AWD V8 $54,789. This is a safe,
fast and great family car. If you are looking for a safe car take a look at these.
Let’s have some fun and talk about the fastest car and truck. The fastest car in the
world is the McClaren F1. This car starts at $678,899. They only have eight that have
made it to the US. You should check out this awesome car.
The fastest truck is the Range Rover Sport Supercharged. This car starts at
$65,456. I think this car is a reasonable price and is luxurious.

Review by: Madelyn M.
If you are looking for a spectacular, unforgettable experience, Wicked is the
show for you! This show is filled with amazing costumes, funny lines and characters
with a colorful variety of personalities. The scenery is breathtaking, from the
mysterious Dragon of Time to the bridge above the poppy field that Elphaba sits
under in “I’m Not That Girl”. The songs are fabulous! Some are sad, some are
happy, and some are just all around great! Some of favorites are “No Good Deed”,
“The Wizard and I”, “Popular”, and “Defying Gravity”. Wicked is clearly the most
“swankified” musical out there! Many people, including me, have already caught Wickitis, and many people’s entire lives have been Wick-ified! (Once again, including me) If
you have seen Wicked, you are very lucky. If you have seen the Broadway cast of
Wicked, you are even luckier. If you’ve ever seen the original Broadway cast of
Wicked (with Idina Menzel as Elphaba) you are extremely lucky! If you have never
seen Wicked, I highly recommend that you see it! If you’ve seen any cast of Wicked,
then I wish you luck seeing it again! Anyway, now you know more about Wicked, so I
really hope that you’ll go see it! I know that it’s a show that you’ll never forget!*

Horoscopes
with Becki S. & Emily E.
Aries: Get started on your career resolutions. Work on your goals until the 30th. Something positive
should happen. (We just don’t know what.) On the 20th, think about what people around you need, and
on the 25th and 26th get up off your couch and start to move. (Just don’t hurt yourself.) You might
encounter a problem on the 30th and 31st. Well, it was bound to happen sometime, but you’ll get
through it, Aries, you always do.
Libra: On the 14th, 15th, 16th, and maybe the 17th too, get creative. We just feel like telling you
that, but it should help in the end. Anyway, when the 20th comes, “you’ll be more on than a 20 watt
light bulb.” On the 25th, you’re all about balance and expression. On the 30th, keep your head down.
Smoother sailing is on the way.
Taurus: Express yourself on the 14th, even if you might get into a fight or two. Don’t let it bother
you too much. On the 20th, you rediscover joy in the small things, and on the 21st, the small things
rediscover joy in you. Look out on the 26th. You’ll have insight that could shape your whole year. On
the 30th, relax and enjoy some quality time with friends.
Scorpio: Stand tall on the 17th, 18th, and 19th. You know what you’re going after and just why you’re
going after it. The 23rd is your day: ENJOY!!! On the 28th, 29th, and 30th, it looks like you could
have a few leftover issues or problems that you need to do your best on.
Gemini: By the the 13th and 14th, get ready to achieve a lot. On the 19th, you might have a
misunderstanding. It’s time to schedule your yearly checkups on the 23rd. On the 27th, you won’t
know anything until you try it. The 31st brings a dose of creativity. So what are you going to do this
year?
Sagittarius: On the 12th and 13th, you may be in high spirits while all of your friends are down. Or
you may be slow, with your sweetness running high. Don’t freak out, all these energies will even out
sooner or later. On the 18th, someone has the potential to drive you crazy. Take a deep breath and
get as “zen as possible” about it. You’ll feel moody on the 22nd and 23rd. On the 24th, 25th, and
26th, you’ll have mood: terrific!! You’ll feel great, so enjoy it. On the 31st, ask yourself what you’ve
learned this year.
Cancer: You’re ready to walk on the wild side a little and your risk-taking pays off on the 13th and
14th. On the 20th, 21st, and 22nd, deal with any home issues right away. On the 27th, invite some old
friends for “tea and cookies.” By the 31st you’ll feel better than you’ve had in a long time.
Capricorn: On the 13th and 14th, try not to take problems personally and deal with any issues right
away. Make money decisions on the 20th and 21st. On the 26th, 27th, and 28th, you’re right back
where you’ve started from: happy!
8
Leo: You’ll feel great on the 15th. On the 20th, you could meet your match (if you have not already).
On the 25th, get ready for something new. The 30th may bring a little test of how well you’ve
mastered the art of chilling out.
Aquarius: The 15th, 16th, and 17th, you might have to compromise (Hey, it’s good for you every once in
a while). Then on the 21st, you have a very helpful revelation, and on the 26th you need to discipline
yourself. On the 28th, 29th, and 30th, you’re lighting up any room that you enter.
Virgo: Do what you’re best at on the 12th, 13th, and 14th; there are plenty of people who will follow
your lead. On the 20th, don’t make any sudden purchases. On the 24th, 25th, and 26th, you might
attend to family matters. Don’t worry: the 30th will be fine.
Pisces: Check in on your health, diet, and fitness resolutions on the 15th and 16th. Then on the 20th,
21st, and 22nd, go for a clean slate: out with the old and in with the new. On the 27th, somebody
helps you in a big way. On the 31st, you’ll feel wonderful.
