Catholic Schools Week begins Monday with Mass
at 9:00 am. All parishioners are invited to join in celebrating the spiritual and academic growth of the children in our school.
YAC Mardi Gras Party, 2/6
Celebrate Mardi Gras with
the
YAC on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the
home of Paul and Laura Masur. The party begins at 6 p.m., and
food and drinks will be provided.
We will be serving Carolina-style
pulled pork, hush puppies, King cake cupcakes,
and fastnachts (homemade doughnuts). The Masurs’
home (45 Dustin St. in Brighton) is about a half-mile
walk from the parish. There is plenty of nonpermitted street parking available. All young adults
in their 20s and 30s are invited to attend. RSVP

YAC Lent Series
Are you tired of just giving something up for Lent?
Looking for something to add as we fast and give
alms in preparation for Easter? Join fellow young
adults in their 20s and 30s for a series on the rosary.
Pope Saint John Paul II gave the Church a beautiful
gift in the Luminous mysteries of the rosary. Each
week we will discuss one of the Luminous mysteries, and we will conclude our meeting by praying the
rosary together. We will meet on Thursdays at 7:30
p.m. in the Lower Church, and our first meeting will
be Feb. 18. Please bring a Bible and a rosary (we

Lenten Regulations – ABSTINENCE: Catholics
over 14 years of age are bound to the obligations of
abstinence. Abstinence is to be observed on Ash
Wednesday and the Fridays of Lent. On days of abstinence, meat may not be used at all.
FAST: Catholics over 18 and up to the beginning of their sixtieth year are bound to the obligation of fasting. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday
are the days of fasting. On these days, only one full
meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to
each one's needs, but together they should not equal
another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and fruit juices
are allowed.

Project Rachel Retreats Dur ing the Year of Mer cy,
Project Rachel extends a special invitation to women
suffering from the pain of abortion to experience God’s
Mercy at a one-day retreat for hope and healing. Retreats will be held at confidential locations on Saturday
February 20, March 19 and June 4. Referrals for sacramental reconciliation to specially trained priests are

Forty Days for Life: fr om Ash

Christians in 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion . There will
also be a peaceful prayer vigil at 7:00 on
the Friday nights of Lent outside the
Planned Parenthood at 1055 Commonwealth Avenue.

Retreat for Mothers of Children with Special Needs
Come away for a day for respite, reflection and sharing! The Women’s Table of the Sisters of St. Joseph of
Boston is hosting a day-long retreat for mothers on Saturday, February 27th, at Mount Carmel Villa in Nahant,
MA. Registrants are welcome to stay overnight on Friday, February 26th, if desired. The program on Saturday will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will include light refreshments in the morning and lunch. Cost

Shower for Pregnancy Help and a speaker, Seminarian Baldemar Garza, from the
Pro-Life Office. Pregnancy Help is in need of baby

Profeta de las naciones
Las palabras de Dios en la primera lectura nos apuntan
más allá de Jeremías a Jesús. Como Jeremías, Jesús fue
consagrado en el útero y se envía como un "profeta de las
naciones" (ver Lucas 1: 31-33).
Al igual que los profetas antes que él, Jesús también se
enfrenta a la hostilidad. En el evangelio de hoy, la multitud en la sinagoga de su ciudad natal se convierte
rápidamente en él, al parecer exigiendo una señal, alguna
prueba de origen divino - que Él es más que "el hijo de
José".
La señal que les da es el de los profetas Elías y Eliseo.
Desde sus carreras coloridos Jesús saca dos historias. En
cada uno, el bypass profetas "muchos ... en Israel" para
otorgar la bendición de Dios sobre los no israelitas que
tenían fe en que los profetas eran hombres de Dios (ver 1
Reyes 17: 1-16; 2 Reyes 5: 1-14) . "Nada ... ni siquiera
uno" en Israel fue encontrado merecedor, Jesús enfatiza.
Su punto no se pierde en su audiencia. Saben Les está
comparando a los "muchos ... en Israel" en los días de los
profetas. Es por eso que ellos tratan de empujarlo por el
precipicio. Como lo prometió proteger a Jeremías, el Señor ofrece a Jesús de entre los que le aplastaría.
Y como eran Elías y Eliseo, Jesús envió a proclamar el
regalo de la salvación de Dios - no exclusivamente a una
nación o pueblo, sino a todos los que se da cuenta en la fe
que desde el vientre sólo Dios es su esperanza, su salvador, su "roca de refugio ", como cantamos en el salmo de
hoy.
Profecías, Pablo nos dice en la epístola de hoy, son parciales y pasarán "cuando venga lo perfecto." En Jesús, la
palabra de los profetas ha sido llevado a la perfección,
cumplida en aquellos que tienen oídos para oír, como lo
declara en el Evangelio de hoy.
Mayor que los dones de la fe y la esperanza, Jesús nos
muestra cómo amar como Él amó, amar a Dios como
nuestro Padre, como Aquel que nos formó en el vientre
materno y nos ha destinado a escuchar su Palabra salvadora.
Esta es la salvación, las "maravillas de Dios", que nosotros, como el salmista, agradecemos a proclamar cada
día en la Eucaristía.

La parroquia pide a la comunidad que por favor se
comuniquen con la oficina por si necesitan pedir una
misa para sus seres queridos que han fallecido o
cualquier otra intencion y traer su donativo a la oficina
de la iglesia.
Si hay parejas que quieran casarse por la Iglesia por

El grupo de jovenes se reune todos los domingos a las
11:00 am. en la iglesia de abajo jovenes interesados
hablar con Any Juarez, Andres Zavala, Jose Salguero.
El grupo Carismatico de oracion se reune todos los
sabados a las 5:30 pm. En la iglesia de abajo estan Invitados.

el centro pastoral de Braintree, todos los martes 2,9,16,

El Padre Success estara haciendo una peregrinacion a
la basilica de Guadalupe en Mexico con extencion a
Cancun por 10 dias comenzando el 4 de Abril el precio

El proximo Viernes tendremos la hora santa siempre a
las 6:00 pm. Y la misa posteriormente a las 7:00 pm.
El padre Success nos intiva a reflecionar a la luz de la
Misericordia.
Las proximas charlas de bautizo se estaran dando el
primer domingo de Febrero despues de la misa 2:00 pm.

bautiza el Tercer domingo de cada mes.
Despues de la misa tenemos café y un compartir con
toda la comunidad para celebrar la fiesta a la virgen
del La Altagracia en la cafeteria de la escuela estan

Cuarenta Días por la Vida: Usted está invitado a unirse a
otros cristianos en 40 días de oración y ayuno por el fin del
aborto desde el Miércoles de Ceniza al Domingo de Ramos. También habrá una vigilia de oración pacífica a las
