Word Wall Words –
OW as in Snow
With these flashcards, all of the ‘ow’ words
make the long O sound. There are a variety of
flashcards/wall word types and difficulty levels
to choose from, depending on the needs of your
class. There are:
• 5 simple 3 letter OW words – great for
building confidence!: bow, tow, low, row,
snow.
• 4 OW words with initial blends: blow, crow,
glow, snow
• 5 slightly more challenging OW (2 syllables):
mower, pillows, elbow, yellow, below
• 4 compound words, 3 of which build on base
words using this phoneme that they have
already covered: snowman, wheelbarrow,
rowboat, blowhole.
