Activities Specialists are professionals who have been approved by Civil Service, with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and approximately one year of paid experience with developmentally disabled persons. Recreation Aides are most often high school or college students who are pursuing careers in the human service fields. Participants are divided into small groups based on age, type of disability and interests. Every effort is made to group each child with others who have similar capabilities and interests.
