His office is located at 419 W. Main Street in Heber Springs. 501-362-5338 Each month, a Chamber member will be treated to cupcakes provided by: Buttercream Cupcakery Volunteer tasks with the Chamber are often at times a challenge. To meet those challenges are some who don't mind the heat, sweat, dirt and grime; "they get down and dirty". This group has made it a family affair. Have you wondered who took the time to protect the yards of those who live along Front, Ely and bordering streets when the crowds swarm Sandy Beach for the Fireworks Extravaganza and the Cardboard Boat Races? This group faithfully stakes the streets twice a summer to control the parking along these busy streets at our special events. Meet these great volunteers: Chad Evans, Morgan Evans, Rachelle Evans, Tonya Redd, Catherine Redd and Gary Redd. Business Features Faces in the Smoke Faces in the smoke so black. Why do you come back every year on this date? https://ui.constantcontact.com/visualeditor/visual_editor_preview.jsp?agent.uid=1114940323013&format=html&print=true 6/10 6/9/2014 News from Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce Why? Faces each and everyone tells a story of life and tragedy. Their eyes open to find the light. Their mouths open to tell what happened to them. They come every year to see the place called Ground Zero being brought back; back from ashes so black and steel so mangled and torn. They see that place through the eyes of those who worked there. Today, just for one day, they come and see the new hope that Ground Zero now brings. Their names set in glossy metal. They see a rose so lovingly set in to a name. Is it the name of a mother or a father who was there? or is it the name of a child who died without their mother? So if you go to NYC, Shanksville or drive by the Pentagon and you see a face rising in the smoke, it's mouth open as if to say "lets roll", know that they are there with you. So listen close, you might just hear them calling out from the Past and see their faces rising in the smoke of a fire. Faces in the smoke. Staring out at me and at you. Do you see them? I think we all did see them once, 12 years ago. They were the faces of those who died in the collapse of the Twin Towers and in the heart of the attack at the Pentagon and in the final seconds of Flight 93. Please tell me, did you see the faces in the smoke? Rosetta Sparks Project Independence, a Division of the Community School of Cleburne County.
