Spring, I hope has finally appeared and we are
well on our way to Springfest. Please mark your
calendars for April 25 and 26 for two fun filled
days. The Chamber membership drive has
been moved and will be held on Monday March
7th at noon. We will be contacting current
members and trying to identify any potential
new members in order to continue fostering
community awareness and building business
relationships. Another way we are proposing
to enhance the Chamber and its impact on the
community is by creating a Leadership Heber
Springs Institute. We a currently setting an
agenda, and working closely with several area
agencies to create a dynamic program. The
Heber Springs Leadership Institute is aimed at
developing a network of talented leaders for
present and future community needs. To meet
this vision, the Leadership Institute seeks to:
* Identify and motivate individuals with
leadership potential.
* Acquaint them with community needs,
challenges, and opportunities.
* Offer a forum of exchange on methods for
dealing with community issues.
*Challenge potential leaders to become involved
with local issues and the process of decision
making.
If you or your business has any potential
candidates, please contact Melisa at the
Chamber as space will be limited.
We look forward to a busy April!
Come celebrate spring in beautiful Heber Springs at the 27t
annual Springfest. Historic Spring Park will be filled with a
crafts, a nature adventure in the Butterfly Pavilion, fun act
for the kids, live music, art demonstrations, festival foods, a
much more. Pet lovers can enter their canine friends in the
"Pooches with Panache" dog contest. The kids will love to m
everyone's favorite clown, Ronald McDonald then stick aro
to see the Arkansas Children's Theatre production of "The L
Engine that Thought He Could". There will be two great ca
shows; classic cars and motorcycles on the Courthouse law
Volkswagens in Spring Park. Enjoy an old-fashioned politic
stumping and pie auction. Local beauties will want to ente
annual Miss Springfest pageant, and load up your smoker a
compete in the 2nd annual "Average Joe's Backyard Burno
BBQ contest. Springfest is fun for the whole family! For a

Volunteer Spotlight
Laverne Hill
Laverne Hill is our featured volunteer of the
month. Laverne provides many hours
assisting in the chamber office and at special
events such as the recent Angler's Expo. We
value her time and willingness that comes
with such a great attitude. Thank you

T he Greers Ferry Lake T rails Council recently completed
major milestone in the dev elopment of a trail using some sectio
the old Missouri and North Arkansas Railroad grade. The trailh
located at 4th Street between Aromatique and the Heber Spring
Sanitation Dept. with access also 3 - 4 blocks south of Main Stree
multiuse trail is a 1 0 feet wide asphalt surface open to the publi
walking, jogging, and cy cling. Open day light to dusk sev en day s
week will accommodate most schedules. For detailed informati

New owners Dan and Jan Allen of Heber Sew N' Vac & Quilte

Oklahoma. The store is located at 207 West Main and is open M
through Friday from 1 0 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday s from 1 0 a.
until 4 p.m. Jan has a wonderful selection of fabrics, the latest i
sewing machine plus numerous sewing supplies to meet the
seamstress' needs. V acuum cleaner and sewing machine repairs

March 4 was postponed due to inclement
weather. We will conduct our annual drive
