The library would like to invite every child in Preble County to
join the Summer Reading Program. The theme this year is Be
Creative @ Your Library. The fun begins June 1st and continues through July 25th.
Summer Reading is designed to help children keep up their reading skills over the summer while having some fun. You can signup any time starting June 1st or the first open day after that
date at your branch. Participating is simple! For every 15 minutes you read, an adult marks off a picture on your time sheet.
Each card designates 1 full hour of reading. When you have
completed the time card, turn it in to your library in exchange for
a gold coin. You can use your coins to buy small prizes! There
will be extra activity sheets that, when completed, can be turned
in for small prizes out of the treasure chest.
There will be weekly entertainment programs at the libraries. At
the Eaton Branch the programs will be offered every Wednesday
at 10am with the same program repeated on Thursday at 2pm.
No registration is required so you can just drop by!
This year, the Eaton branch is offering something new for
Tweens (ages 8-12). On every other Tuesday at 3pm (starting
on June 9th) we will provide a craft program. Because we are
limited to 16 children, registration is required. We will take registrations on the Tuesday before each program. Sign up sheets
will be placed at the Circulation Desk.
Summer Reading Can
Be Fun -- Honest!
Sure it can - especially if there are
fun programs, games, and prizes
involved! All you do is read a little
bit each day to get credit on your
time card. When it is full, turn it in
for prizes! How easy is that? And
guess what? The big prize this year
is a -- digital camera!
Begin signing up June 1
to spend your summer
reading, having fun, and
earning prizes!
When you sign-up for Summer Reading, you will receive a bag
containing all of the information regarding the program. Please
call your local branch to see what programs they will be offering.
If you have any questions please call Teresa Deaton at 456-4331
