Depuis 1913, Bormes les Mimosas était une des
premières communes françaises à bénéficier du
classement en « station climatique »…
On parlait alors de tourisme d’hiver.
Aujourd’hui ce classement n’existe plus, d’autres
contraintes sont apparues avec le développement
du tourisme estival et la commune a su s’adapter.
En juin 2013, la commune a obtenu son
classement en STATION DE TOURISME qui
témoigne de sa politique de qualité et des
nombreux atouts dont dispose notre destination.

Since 1913 Bormes les Mimosas was one
of the first French towns to receive the status as a resort.We
were talking then of winter tourism.Today this classifocation
no longer exists, other contrains have emerged with the
development of summer tourism and the town has been able
to adapt. In June 2013, the town got the rank as a TOURIST
STATION refelecting its quality policy and the numerous assets
of our destination.

Seit 1913 ist Bormes les Mimosas eine der ersten
französischen Gemeinden mit der Klassifizierung „Klimastation”. Mann sprach damals von Wintertourismus. Mit
dem Sommer Tourismus entstanden Anforderungen und
die Gemeinde konte diese entsprechend anfassen. Im Juni
2013 erhielt die Gemeinde die Klassifizierung „TOURISMUSSTATION” welche die Qualität Politik und die zahlreichen
Vorteile unserer Ortes erfüllte.

Cette chapelle de style roman a été
érigée en 1560 en hommage à Saint
François qui délivra la ville de la
peste en 1481.
La chapelle Saint-François de Paule
(chapel). The Roman chapel was erected
in 1560 in memory of saint Patron who in
1481 delivered the city from the plague.

Située à 324 m d’altitude, elle est un
thème de balade très apprécié des
randonneurs. Jolie ascension le long
d’un ancien chemin de croix jalonné

(chapel). Located at 324 meters above

A lovely climb along an old path to the
cross lined with oratories. Religious offices

Construite au 18ème siècle, son
architecture est d’inspiration
romane. Le parvis Georges
Pompidou, le cadran solaire avec sa
devise latine est une curiosité.

C’est l’hiver que fleurit le mimosa !
Entre le 15 décembre et le 15 mars
suivant les années, tout dépend de
la météo… Dans le Var, le mimosa
est intimement lié à l’image de
Bormes depuis qu’en 1968, en
raison du grand nombre d’arbres
présents sur la commune, les
autorités ont décidé de rattacher
cette particule fleurie à son
patronyme d’origine.

It is during winter that mimosa blossom! Following the year,
between the 15 of December and the 15 of March depending
on the weather ... In Var, mimosa is intimately linked to the
image of Bormes since in 1968, due to a large number of this
trees in the village, the authorities have decided to attach this

Depuis les années 50, tous les chefs d’État français
ont régulièrement séjourné à Bormes les Mimosas.
Vincent Auriol, président de la République Française
a résidé au Cap Bénat entre1947 et 1954. Résidence
officielle des présidents de la République depuis
1968, ont séjourné le général De Gaulle, Georges
Pompidou, Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, François
Mitterrand, Jacques Chirac et Nicolas Sarkozy.
François Hollande, n’a pas failli à la coutume se
prêtant à la tradition du bain de foule dans les
ruelles du vieux village.

stayed at Bormes les Mimosas since the 50s. Vincent Auriol, President
of the French Republic lived in Cape Bénat between1947 and 1954.
