trails. The Komrčar town park alone has over 6 km

Kampor.

DE Wir müssen keine Zeitmaschine haben, um uns
in die mittelalterliche Stadt Rab versetzen zu können.
Am 09. Mai, 25. Juni, 27 Juli und 15. August finden die
mittelalterlichen Ritterspiele in Rab statt. Wettkämpfe
der Armbrustschützen aus Rab und San Marino
versetzen uns schnell in die Zeiten als Ehre eine
wichtigere Rolle als Leben spielte. Der Mittelpunkt
der Geschehnisse ist die „Fjera“ von Rab, ein Fest, das
vom 25. bis zum 27. Juli stattfindet. In dieser Zeit wird
auch der Gedenktag an den Schutzpatron der Stadt
Rab St. Christophorus gefeiert. In diesen drei Tagen
tragen alle Kostüme aus der Renaissanceepoche.
Am Fest nehmen knapp tausend Menschen
teil, sie gehen auf die Straßen und Marktplätze
verkleidet als Schmiede, Bäcker, Fischer, Schneider,
Notare… Es werden Süßwaren und gastronomische
Spezialitäten, die typisch für das Mittelalter sind,
zubereitet und gekostet. Wie durch Zauber werden
alle Besucherscharen in die Vergangenheit versetzt.
Der Enthusiasmus, mit dem sich die Inseleinwohner
der Verbildlichung dieser Vergangenheit widmen
und die Besucher in das Geschehen integrieren, ist
faszinierend. Das Ritterturnier stellt das Ende der
Fjera dar. Am letzten Tag wird die bedeutendste
Reliquie von Rab – der Kopf des St. Christophorus
in der Truhe aus Glas und Silber präsentiert. Die
Fjera von Rab ist nicht nur ein Unterhaltungsspiel für
Touristen, sie ist die Hommage der Inseleinwohner
an ihre Stadt, die seit Jahrtausenden existiert und
stellt ihr ganzes Leben, die Überlebenskunst und den
Reichtum dar.

‘Rabska Fjera’ is an important tourist event
involving over 600 islanders, who are trying to provide
visitors with a unique insight into medieval life of the
island. We do not need a time machine to see what
Rab looked like in the Middle Ages. Several times
during the summer in Rab - 9th of May, 25th of June,
27th July and 15th August - the Mediaeval Games
are held. The tournament between the crossbowmen
(balestrieri) of Rab and San Marino will transport
you to a time when honour was more important than
life itself in the twinkling of an eye. The main event
is the Rapska fjera, held from 25th to 27th July, when
St. Christopher’s Day is also celebrated in honour
of the patron saint of the town. Almost a thousand
people wear Renaissance garments and blacksmiths,
carpenters, bakers, fishermen, tailors and scribes come
out onto the streets and squares. Sweets and culinary
specialties from mediaeval times can be sampled. It
is fascinating to witness the enthusiasm both with
which the citizens of Rab engross themselves in
bringing to life this living image of the past, and the
way in which the tourists enter into the spirit of the
performance. The mediaeval tournament is a logical
conclusion to the Fjera, and on the last day the main
relic of Rab is brought out before believers - the head
of St. Christopher, kept in a glass and silver chest. The
Rapska fjera is not just a performance for the benefit of
tourists, it is a specific homage of the islanders to their
town, which has stood fast for millennia and which
represents the life, the survival and the prosperity of
the whole island.

Der Campingplatz Padova 3 befindet sich
am Ufer der gleichnamigen Bucht, in der Ortschaft
Banjol, 20 Minuten zu Fuß von der Stadt Rab
entfernt. Das Stadtzentrum ist mit dem Boot in
einigen Minuten zu erreichen, aber die meisten
Gäste bevorzugen einen angenehmen Spaziergang
entlang der Promenade mit Einschwenkung in eines
der Dutzenden Restaurants und Cafés an der Küste.
Der Campingplatz bietet Platz für 1500 Gäste, wie
auf dem flachen Teil der Küste so auch auf einem
mit Pinienbäumen bewachsenen Hügel und mit Blick
auf die bemerkenswerte Silhouette der Altstadt . Der
Campingplatz verfügt über eine außergewöhnliche
Infrastruktur, die regelmäßig erneuert wird sowie
zahlreiche Service-und Unterhaltungsinhalte.
Für Freizeitaktivitäten gibt es einen sandigen
Spielplatz, einen aufblasbaren Spielplatz, einen
Aquapark, Tretboote, Paragliding, Vermietungen
von Quad-Cross Fahrzeugen und Booten. Wenn
auf dem Campingplatz die Schatten der Kiefern
und Olivenbäume keinen ausreichenden Schutz vor

Die Padova 3 Bucht ist nicht dem Sommergedränge
entledigt aber es ist jederzeit möglich, eine ruhige
Ecke zum Entspannen zu finden. Andererseits ist er
dem urbanen touristischen Mittelpunkt ausreichend
nah, sodass die Suche nach Beschäftigungen während
des Aufenthalts auf der Insel wenig Zeit in Anspruch
nimmt.

EN Campsite Padova 3 is located on the seashore of
Padova 3 bay in Banjol, twenty minutes’ walk from the
town of Rab. The town centre can be reached by boat
in several minutes, but most guests prefer a pleasant
stroll along the promenade, with a detour to one of a
dozen restaurants and bars right by the beach.
The camp can accommodate up to 1500 guests, either
on its flat portion or on a small pine-tree covered
hill which has a remarkable view of the old town.
The camp boasts excellent infrastructure which is
regularly being renewed, as well as many services and
entertainment facilities.

seltsamen Wüstenphänomenen ist. Das Sandparadies,
wie Lopar genannt wird, ist ein Ort mit den meisten
natürlichen Sandstränden an der Adria. Einige, wie
die Paradies oder Livacina, sind extrem beliebt und
besucht, und wenn Sie Ruhe und Privatsphäre suchen
stehen über zwanzig Nebenstrände zur Verfügung
mit vielen kleineren Buchten. Der Campingplatz
San Marino wird von Eltern mit kleinen Kindern

peninsula, in the shade of the poplar oak forest. Strong
wind ‘Bura’ along with high summer temperatures
have formed a memorable “desert” landscape in the
the northern part of the peninsula, which abounds in
rare and unusual vegetation and desert phenomena.
Sand paradise, as Lopar is refered to, is the place with
highest concetration of sandy beaches on the Adriatic.
Some, such as Paradise or Livačina are extremely
popular and visited, but if you are looking for peace
and privacy there are more than twenty other beaches,
with many more smaller bays surrounding them.

coastline perfect for playtime in the sand, plenty of
space, richness in local sport, entertainment and
gastronomic offer, are the reason why families spend
their whole day on these beaches. Elderly, people in

in this camp. A sports centre is located next to the
camp, with several tennis courts, volleyball courts,
soccer field, mini-golf course, diving schools, and
renters of water sports props. Distance from the old
town of Rab is 12 km.

‘Sun Roller‘ Wohnmobile mit einer Einzel-Kapazität
von bis zu 6 Personen. Es stehen zwei getrennte
Zimmer für vier Personen zur Verfügung und es

im Wohnzimmer untergebracht werden. Alle
Wohnmobile haben ein eigenes Badezimmer, während
sich in der Siedlung eine zentrale Sanitäranlage
befindet. Auf dem Campingplatz gibt es mehrere
Restaurants und Bars, Märkte, Lebensmittelgeschäfte

DE Bus-und Straßenverkehr
Die Verkehrsverbindungen in der Republik Kroatien
sind sehr gut entwickelt und der Straßenverkehr ist
die kostengünstigste Art zu reisen. Die wichtigsten
Busterminale in der Hauptstadt Zagreb und der
Stadt Rijeka haben täglich Bus-Linien zur Insel
Rab, manchmal mehrmals am Tag. Die Anreise auf
die Insel mit dem Bus ist auch aus anderen Städten
möglich - Sibenik, Split, Zadar, Pula, Karlovac, etc.
Aus allen aufgeführten Städten verzweigen sich
die Routen mit Europa, am verkehrsreichsten mit
Österreich, Deutschland, Italien, Slowenien, Schweiz,
Ungarn, etc.
Eisenbahnverkehr
Die Hauptstadt Zagreb ist auch im Eisenbahnverkehr
mit internationalen Linien verbunden. Aus Wien,
Budapest, Venedig und Ljubljana verkehren
mehrmals täglich Züge und vom Hauptbahnhof
in Zagreb verkehren die Züge in alle Richtungen
Kroatiens, unter anderem auch in den Hafen von
Rijeka. Der Ausgangspunkt des Katamarans wie auch
der Busbahnhof in Rijeka sind nur wenige Minuten
zu Fuß vom Bahnhof Rijeka entfernt.
Straßenrichtungen
Wenn Sie mit dem Auto von Rijeka unterwegs sind,
fahren Sie nach Süden in Richtung Karlobag. 105
km der Adria-Magistrale entlang, biegen Sie rechts
zur Anlegestelle der Fähre in Stinica ab und lassen
sich mit den Fähren übersetzten die kontinuierlich
zwischen Stinica und Misnjak (Rab) verkehren. Eine
weitere Möglichkeit die Insel mit dem Fahrzeug zu
erreichen ist über die Fähranlegestelle Valbiska auf
der Insel Krk, die mit einer direkten Linie mit der
Anlegestelle in Lopar auf der Insel Rab verbunden ist.
Wenn Sie von Zagreb über die Autobahn kommen,
biegen bei der Ausfahrt „Zuta Lokva“ ab und folgen
der Bergstrasse Richtung der Stadt Senj und dann
weiter Richtung Süden. Nach 30 Minuten Fahrt
biegen Sie rechts ab zum Fähranleger in Stinica.
Anfahrt aus dem Ausland:
Via Salzburg und dem Tunnel Karawanken in
Slowenien, weiter durch Ljubljana und Postojna in
Richtung der kroatischen Stadt Rijeka. Von Rijeka
entlang der adriatischen Magistrale 105 km bis zum
Fährhafen Stinica oder über die Brücke und Insel Krk
bis zum Fährhafen Valbiska – Insel Krk und weiter mit
der Fähre bis zur Fähranlegestelle Lopar auf Rab. über
Wien und Graz nach Slowenien, weiter über Maribor
nach Zagreb. Aus Budapest und der Stadt Varazdin
nach Zagreb, von Zagreb aus weiter mit der Autobahn
bis „Zuta Lokva“, weiter die Straße entlang in Richtung
der Stadt Senj und nach 38 km in Richtung Split
der Magistrale entlang erreichen Sie den Fährhafen
Stinica. Über die Schweiz nach Italien und weiter über
Mailand, Venedig und Triest in Slowenien, weiter in
Richtung der kroatischen Stadt Rijeka, Von Rijeka
entlang der adriatischen Magistrale 105 km bis zum
Fährhafen Stinica oder über die Brücke und Insel Krk
bis zum Fährhafen Valbiska – Insel Krk und weiter
mit der Fähre bis zur Fähranlegestelle Lopar auf Rab.
Luftverkehr
Internationale Flughäfen befinden sich in Zagreb,
Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Pula und auf der

How to reach us
EN Bus and road connections
Transport links in the Republic of Croatia are very
well developed, and road is the most cost-effective
way to travel. The bus terminals in Zagreb, the capital,
and the city of Rijeka have daily bus services to and
from the island of Rab, sometimes as many as a few
times a day. It is also possible to reach the island by
bus from other towns: Sibenik, Split, Zadar, Pula,
Karlovac, etc. All the above-mentioned cities have
routes extending further across Europe, the busiest
being towards Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia,
Switzerland, Hungary, etc.
Rail transport
The city of Zagreb is connected with international
railway routes. The lines from Vienna, Budapest,
Venice and Ljubljana have several trains each day.
From Zagreb, there are trains to destinations all over
Croatia, including the port of Rijeka. The catamaran
terminal and the main bus station in Rijeka are only a
few minutes’ walk from the railway station.
Road directions
Travelling by car from Rijeka, drive south towards
Karlobag. 105 km down the Adriatic coastal road,
turn right for the Stinica ferry port and cross over to
the island on one of the ferries that constantly operate
on the Stinica-Mišnjak (Rab) line. The other way
to reach the island by car is by ferry from the port
at Valbiska on the island of Krk, which is connected
by a direct line to Lopar on Rab. If travelling on the
highway from Zagreb, take the Žuta Lokva exit. From
there, head down the mountain road to Senj, and
continue southwards. After 30 minutes’ driving, turn
right to the ferry port of Stinica.
Directions when arriving from abroad
Via Salzburg and the Karawanken Tunnel into
Slovenia, travel onward via Ljubljana and Postojna in
the direction of Croatia and the city of Rijeka. From
Rijeka, continue along the Adriatic coastal road for
105 km to the ferry port of Stinica or over the Krk
bridge to the island of Krk, and from Valbiska harbour
by ferry to Lopar on the island of Rab.

Viele kroatische Küstenstädte sind mit
internationalen Schiffslinien verbunden z.B. Zadar –
Ancona, Dubrovnik – Bari. Von den Hauptstädten führen
Strassen zu den Anlegestellen der Insel. Die Stadt und der
Hafen von Rijeka sind der wichtigste Verkehrsknotenpunkt
der Kvarner Bucht von wo aus Schiffe auch zur Insel Rab
auslaufen. Der Fährverkehr zwischen der Insel und dem
Festland findet über zwei Linien statt. Im Süden der Insel
zwischen dem Fährhafen Stinica und Misnjak verkehren
mehrere Fähren (www.rapska-plovidba.hr), während
der Anschluss auf der nördlichen Halbinsel Lopar mit
der Fährlinie im Fährhafen Valbiska auf der Insel Krk
verbunden ist (www.jadrolinija.hr). Für Passagiere
ohne Fahrzeug, ist Rab täglich mit der Stadt Rijeka per

and Dubrovnik- Bari. From larger cities, the coastal roads
lead to ports which are linked to the island of Rab. The
city and port of Rijeka is the main transport centre for the
Kvarner islands. Boats also depart from here for the island
of Rab. There are two ferry lines between the mainland
and the island. From the south of the island, between
Stinica and Mišnjak, there are a number of ferries (www.
rapska-plovidba.hr), while the harbour in the north of the
Lopar peninsula is connected with Valbiska on the island
of Krk (www.jadrolinija.hr). For passengers without cars,
Rab is connected by catamaran with the city of Rijeka. This
