His attitude seems to be just get the job done. Why did you choose North Carolina: to be on the first UNC national championship football team. Greatest moment in my athletic career (so far): was scoring my first TD on a punt return (at Wake Forest, 2000) My goals for this season are: to be known as one of the top receivers in the nation. My career goals are: to make it to the NFL, then invest in various businesses. The highlight of the off-season has been: getting to play with former players. To prepare myself for each game I: think back on when I was injured and not playing. To improve my game since coming to UNC, I’ve: studied film. LP 70 60 70 12•KORY BAILEY Wide Receiver 6-1, 188, Senior Durham, N.C. • Northern Ranks ninth in the UNC record book with 95 receptions and is 13th with 1,331 yards receiving • One of the most consistent receivers in the last few years • Is a versatile receiver who can make the short play and also go long. 2000 • JUNIOR SEASON Started every game at wide receiver and was second on the team in receiving and third in all-purpose yards • Had 32 catches for 550 yards – a 17.2 yard average per catch – and two touchdowns • Was 10th in the ACC with 50.0 receiving yards per game • Caught at least one pass in all but one game • Did not have a reception vs. Maryland, snapping a 31game streak of catching at least one pass • Tied his career high with seven catches and established a new career best with 129 yards receiving vs. Clemson • That was the best day for a Tar Heel receiver in almost two years (Na Brown had 142 yards vs. Maryland on Nov. 7, 1998) and it was the second-most productive day for a UNC receiver vs. Clemson (L.C. KORY BAILEY C A R O L I N A BOSLEY ALLEN 1999 •SOPHOMORE SEASON Led the Tar Heels in all-purpose yards with 695, an average of 63.2 per game, and in receptions with 25 for 418 yards • Played in all 11 games and started five times • Averaged 16.7 yards per reception for the season, 17.1 in ACC contests • Had a season-high six catches for 63 yards in the win at Indiana • Had 81 yards on four catches against top-ranked Florida State • Caught two touchdown passes – a 40-yarder from Domonique Williams against Duke and a 39-yarder from Luke Huard against Houston • The Duke catch was a spectacular, aerial reception that gave the Tar Heels a 19-0 lead just before halftime • Finished the Duke game with three catches for 57 yards • Grabbed three passes for 59 yards against Furman • Caught two 45-yard passes, the longest passing plays of the season • Connected with Williams on both 45-yard plays – one against Furman and one against NC State • The latter play set up Carolina’s lone touchdown in the 10-6 upset win over the Wolfpack • Had at least one reception in all 11 games • Averaged 18.6 yards on 12 kickoff returns and 4.1 yards on 15 punt returns.
