After missing the entire 1999 season due to
a major knee injury, Allen had a spectacular year in 2000 as the Tar Heels’top

receptions for 634 yards, an average of 15.9 yards per catch • Led the team with
four touchdown catches, including two in the season finale at Duke • Was fifth in
the ACC with 57.6 yards receiving per game and seventh in receptions per game
(3.64) • Returned 28 punts for a school-record 421 yards (15.0 average) and two

My goals for this season are: to be known as one of

My career goals are: to make it to the NFL, then invest
in various businesses.
The highlight of the off-season has been: getting to

Started every game at wide receiver and was second on the team in
receiving and third in all-purpose yards • Had 32 catches for 550 yards –
a 17.2 yard average per catch – and two touchdowns • Was 10th in the
ACC with 50.0 receiving yards per game • Caught at least one pass in all
but one game • Did not have a reception vs. Maryland, snapping a 31game streak of catching at least one pass • Tied his career high with
seven catches and established a new career best with 129 yards receiving
vs. Clemson • That was the best day for a Tar Heel receiver in almost two
years (Na Brown had 142 yards vs. Maryland on Nov. 7, 1998) and it was

Had a season-high six catches for 63 yards in the win at Indiana • Had 81 yards
on four catches against top-ranked Florida State • Caught two touchdown passes
– a 40-yarder from Domonique Williams against Duke and a 39-yarder from
Luke Huard against Houston • The Duke catch was a spectacular, aerial reception that gave the Tar Heels a 19-0 lead just before halftime • Finished the Duke

My greatest moment in sports (so far): was beating
NC State in overtime in Charlotte to go to a bowl
game.
My favorite thing about being a student-athlete at
UNC is: stepping into Kenan Stadium in front of
60,000 fans.
My career goals are: to play pro football and then
work in television.
