Unit #1 was traveling south on Meeker Road in the right lane
and when at 8512 Meeker Road, Unit #1 lost control of the
vehicle while attempting to negotiate a curve and slide off
the right side of the roadway due to a snow and ice covered
roadway, striking an electric pole that was already broken
from a prior crash.

On Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 0957 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury accident at 8512 Meeker
Road in Butler Township. The roads were snow and ice covered, causing the roads to be very slick.
Upon arrival, I located a vehicle with heavy left front end damage. During my investigation, I could
see the tire marks in the snow and on the roadway that leads the unit 1. The tire tracks indicated the
vehicle was negotiating a curve and the vehicle began to slide sideways on the snow and ice. As the
driver attempted to correct the vehicle, the vehicle continued to slide and struck a telephone pole
that was already broken from a prior accident.
With the weather and road conditions at the time of the crash, I believe the accident was caused from
the road conditions. I elected not to issue a citation to the driver of the crash.
