It’s an exciting time of year for all associated with the school as new friendships are formed and faculty and staff prepare to give their students the very best in Catholic Education. This weekend, RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is having an inquiry weekend. If you need to fulfill Sacraments, this is a good time to stop by the Parish Meeting Room after Mass to see how you could be brought into Full communion in the Catholic Church. Mary and her staff will be there to answer your questions and provide information. I am on retreat this weekend with the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Hanceville, Alabama. I bring with me your intentions. Please know that I am praying for our entire Corpus Christi Parish family. We also have the canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa this weekend. The Mass will be televised by EWTN live at 3:30 AM and will be re-broadcast at 11:30 AM, 10:00 PM and Midnight on Monday, September 5. She was born Gonxha Agnes Bojaxhiu on August 26, 1910 in Macedonia. She made her final profession of vows on May 24, 1937. She died on September 5, 1997. She was beatified on October 19, 2003. “Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted.” Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us. May God Bless You All! Fr. As the season changes and the warm days of summer end, we look forward to coming together again as a community of love and friendship. We also come together to thank our Father for all the blessings and joys we have received and to dwell on His Holy Word. This year, the Women of Joy will focus on our journey to God through prayer. We know God speaks to us through His written word, The Bible. We, as His children, speak to God through prayer. Prayer is an important part of Christian life. We pray in words; sometimes, we pray in song. “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of The Church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:1314). We learn through prayer, that God’s peace and joy become part of our very soul. “Remember, more things are wrought through prayer than this world ever dreamed of.” (Msgr. Fulton J. Sheen). You are invited to join our breakfast and be part of this joyful experience! Be with us as we celebrate a morning of uplifting Scripture, good food and warm fellowship. All are welcome, newcomers and “old faithful.” More info/directions? Please call Marianne Janus, 609.835.1475 or Monica Maass, 609.877.1583.
