Mission Statement: “To glorify God and to be the Body of Christ in this Community”
Our Goal
$ 5,000
100 % of your gift supports North American missionaries as part of the Send North
America strategy, pushing back lostness and planting churches in North America.
We invite you to join us at The Hill
Baptist Church for a new way to worship as we launch our new contemporary
service on March 1st at 9am! We're your
neighborhood church with a Christcentered mission. We look forward to
worshiping with you!
The new worship service will begin at
9am on March 1st. We will meet in the
Sanctuary which is located at 2165 Kings Way. You will be welcomed by friendly faces as
you receive a worship guide. The service will include contemporary worship music. The instruments that will be used will include an acoustic guitar, violin, bass guitar, box drum and
occasionally the piano. The service will also include a Christ-centered message which will
flow from the Bible. The service will last 45 minutes and conclude at 9:45am.

Prayer List
Dear Church Family,
Members with Health Concerns
It is a privilege to serve in a church that is mission
minded. You have prayed and worked hard to make it possible for us to begin a new worship service at 9am on Sunday morning. I believe the Lord will use this service to
reach more people with the gospel. You have consistently
given financially to support both the ministries of our
church as well as ministries all around the world. Many of
you have been sent out by our church to minister in cities
and countries around the world. As we move into March,
we will continue our mission focus by focusing on two
mission initiatives.

The first is the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
Every dollar we give to this offering goes to support the
efforts of the North American Mission Board’s Send North
America strategy, as missionaries and church planters push
back lostness in the United States and Canada. Our goal
this year is $5,000.
The second is the New York City mission trip that we have
planned for June 6-12. There are three main ways you can
be involved. You can join
us in praying for this mission trip that God would use
us to plant seeds that will
produce fruit that will last.
Another way you can be
involved is that you can go
with us to New York City.
If you want to go with us,
you will need to fill out the NYC Mission Trip form and
pay a $75 deposit by Sunday, March 8th. If you are not
able to go, there is a third way you can be involved. In
April, we will be giving the church an opportunity to give
toward this mission trip. Whether it’s praying, giving, or
going you can be involved in this mission initiative.
We have a history of missions involvement and I
foresee that trait continuing in our DNA. I want to challenge you to prayerfully consider how you will be involved
in these two mission initiatives.
In Christ,

Our next Cookie Ministry day is March
5th at 10 a.m. Meet me in the Social
Hall and we’ll see what we can put
together! Also in March, we are going
to take a trip up to Hodges, SC to visit
the Park Seed Store. Some of you have expressed an interest in going up there so here’s your chance! We’ll meet in
the Troup St. parking lot at 10 a.m. We’ll visit the store
and find a good place to eat while we’re up there.
And then finally, mark your calendar for our trip to the
Georgia State Botanical Gardens in Athens. We are planning to take that trip on Thursday, April 23rd. We leave
here at 9 a.m.
Handbell Choir starts meeting again on
Sunday, March 1st. We would love to
have you come and join us! Just give me a
call or talk to me in the hall and we’ll get
you ready to go. If you’ve never rung bells before don’t
worry, we accept all levels of experience!
Our church will be hosting a special
evening of worship with the Jubal
Brass on Thursday, March 19th.
The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
in the sanctuary. This will be a very
special time and I’d hate for any of
you to miss it. I hope you’ll go ahead and put this date on
your calendar and plan to join us that night!

This month, the CIA Bible verse is,
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord.
He said, ‘Who will I send? Who will
go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send
me!” Isaiah 6:8. The students will be
learning about Isaiah and how he answered God’s call for his life. They will be encouraged to
listen for God’s calling in their own lives as He has a unique
calling for each one of our lives, no matter the age. During
the month of March, Mission Friends and Children in Action
will be studying two missionary families in Toronto, Canada: the Porters and the Hesses. Please join us in praying for
these two families as they share the good news in Toronto.
Coming up: FAMILY NIGHT OUT! Join us Friday, March
13th for a family fun night at Red Wing Rollerway. The estimated price is $9.00 per person for the night and all family
members are invited. We will meet at the church at 6:30 pm.
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be April 4th 10 am- 12 pm.
Please join us for an Easter celebration!
In Him,
Mrs. Abbey

The Hill Youth are excited
about our D-Now weekend
coming up March 6-8! We
have ten students signed up
and several more who are
considering joining us! On Friday night, we will be attending the city wide D-Now rally at Grace Baptist Church
which will feature Matt Papa and evangelist Rick Coram.
We’ll have small group Bible study Friday night, Saturday
morning, and Saturday night and we’ll enjoy lunch and
some games and free time with Crossbridge Baptist Church
Saturday afternoon. We’ll finish the weekend on Sunday
morning by attending the 9:00 am service and then have
our last small group session during Sunday school.
Our Bible study for the weekend is called “Imitator” and
focuses on Ephesians 5:1-2 which says, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as
Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Large and small group sessions
will focus on being an imitator of God, the call to imitate
God, showing love to others, and imitating God with a purpose. It will be a busy but fun and meaningful weekend!
On Wednesday, March 11, we’ll be starting a new Wednesday night series, Zombie Christian: The Sacred Undead,
which is a study of Ezekiel. This study will be led by a variety of people including Clay Bagby, Christy Bagby, Cameron Brewer, Derek Allen, Lucy Richardson, Joe Rizner,
and Jill Harbolt. We are excited to have the opportunity to
hear these speakers and to be piloting this study for the author, Sabrena Klausman! On Sunday nights, we’ll be finishing up The Power of God’s Names by Tony Evans.

March events!
