General Information
Key-note Speaker– Dr. Tim Smith
Pastor of East Mountain Baptist Church, Gilmer, Texas.
Dr. Tim Smith joined the EMBC family in November of 2012. He was born and
grew up, in Dallas, Texas. Pastor Tim accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior as a
high school senior.
Pastor Tim graduated from Blue Mountain College in Mississippi with a Bachelor’s
degree in Psychology and Bible. He completed a Master’s of Divinity degree at
Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri and earned his
Doctor of Ministry in Evangelism and Church Growth from New Orleans Baptist
Theological Seminary.
Pastor Tim has pastored churches in Tennessee, Missouri, Iowa, and Texas as well as Italy. Over the years he
has participated in the local community through coaching baseball teams, organizing fund-raisers for charitable
organizations, serving as Hospice chaplain, Cub Scout leadership, membership and presidency of various community boards as well as local Ministerial Associations.
Pastor Tim has published several articles in SBC related journals. He served as the European Baptist Convention Vice President, on the International Baptist Convention Long Range Planning Committee, Baptist World
Alliance work groups, MBTS Planning Task Force, Seminary Extension Instructor, and many other service roles
at both State and Associational levels.
He is married to Tennessee native Christee Sheree’ Kerr. They have two sons in college—Kody and Kameron.

Wednesday night praise time for the last several years. We look forward to
these young men leading us in worship this year.
