HOLIDAY WISHES: At term’s end we would like to thank all our pupils for the
positive contribution that they have made to Crawford Preparatory, Sandton.
It has been a very busy, yet productive term, with many highlights in the

‘AROUND THE WORLD’ WITH THE GRADE 6 CAKE AND CANDY
Friday 13 March saw the Crawford field transformed into a colourful array of international food stalls.
There was such an amazing variety of foods available and so many eager sellers that no-one could
help but part with their money. From custard éclairs to penne napolitano and from ice-cream treats to
samoosas of every flavour – the Grade 6s excelled. Thank you to all the moms and dads who
provided the magnificent outfits to match the fabulous foods.
Congratulations to all the Grade 6s. It was such fun travelling ‘Around the World’ in half an hour!
INTERSEN PHASE:
1. Having completed a trimester with Cycle Tests being written on a Thursday and not on a
Tuesday, it has been decided that we will return to writing Cycle Tests on a Tuesday in the
second trimester. Although this means revising on a weekend, it seems to remain a better option
for extra-mural fixtures, other class assessments and support within the home. Please refer to the
Term Planner for the dates and schedule of Cycle Tests.
2. Please note the ‘Issue of Intersen Phase Reports’ scheduled for Friday, 27 March in the First
Term Planner is an error and reports will be issued on Friday, 24 April.
3. Emma Sadleir, an expert in Social Media and legal matters of a cyber nature, will be addressing
the Grade 5 – 7 pupils on Thursday, 7 May during school time. We are also very fortunate to have
booked her for the parents (parents from any grade may attend) for the same evening in the Hall.
Please book the date (Thursday, 7 May) as she is highly regarded in her field and this should be a
very informative talk. More details will follow in the new term.
CHECKMATE
Children played chess with their
parents on Friday, 20 March.
It was a fun afternoon between
parents and pupils. They all
enjoyed themselves.
