Deck Fundación Capital
Inclusion and Equity through Innovation
OUR APPROACH
Fundación Capital is an international social enterprise, a changemaker aimed at building and enhancing
the assets of the poor on a massive scale. We design and implement disruptive initiatives (with national
governments, financial institutions, investors, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders) that
accompany low-income households in building, enhancing and protecting their assets to mitigate the risks they
face, developing their full potential and standing for their rights.
We prioritize financial asset-building strategies by banking the unbanked, mobilizing their monetary savings,
facilitating access to micro-insurance schemes, and providing other diversified formal financial services. For
small and growing businesses, we design tools to connect small entrepreneurs with potential investors and
mentors, strengthening productive investments.

The Inclusive Finance Division
works towards connecting poor
populations to the formal financial
system so they can benefit from
a wide array of financial services.
As the literature shows, financial
services help the poor reduce their
vulnerability. One of our innovative approaches has been linking social protection programs,
Conditional Cash Transfers, with
the formal financial system, allowing millions of unbanked poor to
benefit by encouraging savings,
investment and entrepreneurship.
The Economic Citizenship Division provides innovative solutions to increase the productive,
financial, human and social
assets of the poor and extreme
poor, so they are able to attain
socioeconomic stability, overcome unexpected setbacks, and
achieve full economic citizenship.
The Digital Solutions Division uses
the same technological advances that
facilitate global commerce and communication to improve the lives of
the poor. It represents a commitment
to apply and experiment with new
technologies that can improve quality,
increase scale and reduce the implementation costs of our projects. With
tools such as mobile banking, tablet
and smartphone based financial education, e-learning and e-coaching, the
initiative supports all of our projects
by identifying ways that technology
can be harnessed to increase scale
and reach more communities in need.
Post-conflict & Territorial
Development
The Post- Conflict & Territorial
Development Division works
with public and private sector
partners to encourage entrepreneurship, financial inclusion
and asset-building as a means
of strengthening fragile communities. Our efforts focus on
inclusive, broad-based solutions, so that those affected by
conflict can´t only recover, but
thrive.
