Message from the Chair of the Board and the Executive Director
It is with great pleasure that we present the MOSAIC 2015 – 2020 Strategic
Plan. Founded on values of excellence, innovation, inclusion, commitment and
integrity, the Plan maps the road ahead for the organization’s sustained growth.
The review of our Vision, Mission, Values, and the development of the Strategic
Directions and Objectives is the result of seven months of discussions and
consultation both internally and also with MOSAIC’s external partners and
clients. In working to finalize the plan, MOSAIC’s Board and its Management
solicited input from staff, volunteers and the Client Advisory Committee.
The strategic planning process began in August 2014. At our All Staff Retreat
members reflected on our successes and gave thought to the internal and
external challenges that we will have to meet in order to continue to fulfill our
mission.
Development of our Vision Statement involved extensive discussions about our
future as we took into account the ongoing changes in Canadian immigration
policy, changing demographics and shifts in provincial programming requiring
settlement services to be dynamic and innovative. The discussions and input
from all stakeholders have led us to a direct and concise vision that will guide
MOSAIC for the years ahead.
We move forward committed to carrying out the Strategic Directions: expansion
of services to meet client needs; enhancement of organizational capacity;
engagement in public policy to shape a just and inclusive society; building a
healthy work environment; increasing and diversifying revenue sources.
We want to thank and acknowledge all the individuals who contributed their
time, ideas and expertise to the development of a plan that not only represents
MOSAIC’s goals and aspirations, but also its spirit and culture. The Plan, we
are confident, will guide the daily work of our staff members and volunteers,
and will also channel our efforts to improve and to adapt to the needs of
newcomers who make B.C. their home.
