Announcements
Welcome!
We rejoice with Chris and Rae Barnes on the birth of their daughter, Emily
Jessen Barnes, on May 21, 2015.
We gather together this morning to worship God and listen to him
speaking to us in the scriptures. Maybe for us it’s a familiar pattern.
But each Sunday, the songs and readings and the teaching in the
sermon come together in a unique combination. God has prepared
this time for us through the labors of those standing in front. Are we
eager to use this time to learn something new about God?
Save the Date! Men’s Retreat, November 13-15.
If you are visiting today, we are glad you are here! It is our hope
that you’ll learn more about what God has done for us through Jesus.
We would like to get to know you. Please come by the information
desk in the lobby to get more information about New Life, ways to
get connected, and opportunities to grow in your Christian life.

Prayer Focus—Andrew King
Ron Lutz, preaching
1 Timothy 1:1-7
May 31, 2015
Andrew King serving with InterVarsity at Penn State main campus.
Praises:

For the 8 Penn State students who attended InterVarsity's Chapter Camp
from May 9-15, spending 6 hours per day in scripture study, and the ways
God was motivating them to invite their friends to be transformed by
Jesus.

For the multi-ethnic team traveling with me to far west China in July and
August and their willingness to enter into tough conversations about
oppression, race, and spirituality in July and August.

For a peace in God’s plan in the midst of changing job responsibilities
with InterVarsity.
Prayer Requests:

Pray for sustained motivation among students in the ministry who were
energized at Chapter Camp. Pray that the Spirit continues to work in them
over the summer as we meet and welcome new students into our
community in August.

For a sense of peace and provision as I direct the Global Project to far west
China this summer. Pray that the team is able to work through the
challenges we face.

For continued partners who are able to come along side of the ministry and
help it move forward financially, prayerfully, and practically as we seek to
reach students with the gospel at Penn State.
Outreach
Prayer of Belief: Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I
ever before believed, but, through you, I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared
hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment and offering
forgiveness. I turn from my sins and receive you as Savior. Amen.
Bethany 5K Run-1K Walk is this Saturday, June 6. Mark your calendar and
put on your shoes to help make this a world in which every child has a loving
family. The event will take place at Fort Washington State Park. For more
information and to register, go to: http://bethanywalkrun.weebly.com/.
