2015 Vorgee NT Short Course Championships

Event:
The 2015 Northern Territory Short Course Championships are to be held in the 25m
indoor pool facility at the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre over the May long
weekend. McDonalds NT 9&Under events are incorporated into the 2015 Short
Course Championships with events for swimmers aged 9 years and under .
Time:
Saturday 2nd May
Session 1: 7.00am warm up
Session 2: 4.30pm warm up
Sunday 3rd May
Session 3: 8.00am warm up
Session 4: 3.00pm warm up
Admission:
$5 per family (includes program). Additional programs $2 each
Eligibility:
Any swimmer who is registered with Swimming Northern Territory is eligible to
compete in any event in his or her age group and, provided he/she is 10 years or older
on the first day of the meet, in any Open event. Registered swimmers from outside of
the Northern Territory may compete with the written permission of their controlling
body (clearance). There are no qualifying times for this event.
Entry Fee:
$5.50 per individual event, $11.00 per relay team

Format:
All events will be swum as male and female timed finals, except for the open mixed
relays which must consist of at least 2 female swimmers.
TheReferee reserves the right to combine age groups depending on numbers of entries
received.
Rules:
Medals
Conducted under the rules of Swimming Australia Ltd.
The “no false start” rule will apply to all events
Swimmers may not swim up an age group for age events
Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed Northern Territorian in each event
according to age groupings below. Medals will also be awarded to visitors placing 1st,
2nd and 3rdoverall in each event/age group.

7&under, 8, 9years – McDonalds 9&Under medals will be awarded for the following
50m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 100m Individual Medley
10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16yrs & over – 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke,
Butterfly. 100m Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle and Individual
Medley, 200m Freestyle and Individual Medley
Open – 200m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly, 400m Freestyle and
Individual Medley, 800m Freestyle (women), 1500m Freestyle (men)
Relays
The following relay events will be held:
Open –Male and Female 4x50m Freestyle, Male and Female 4x50m Medley,
Mixed 4x25m Freestyle, Mixed 4x25m Medley
12yrs&under – Male and Female 4x25m Freestyle, Male and Female 4x25m
Medley
Trophies
The Swimmer of the Meet trophy will be awarded to the swimmer who achieves the
highest combined score over their three highest scoring individual events based on
the Hy-tek short course age group points system (note: 50m form strokes not
included).

NT Short Course Championships records are kept for this annual event and are
displayed on the Swimming NT website www.nt.swimming.org.au
