Things to Do
BOOK A PRIVATE TOUR!
Cambria consists of East and West Village. East Village was settled first and has many
historic structures containing interesting restaurants & shops. West Village is reminiscent
of a Tudor style Old English village. Every season is beautiful here on the Central Coast! The weather
changes are subtle, and everyone can participate in outdoor activities year round. Need something
to do? How about: A drive up Santa Rosa Creek Road, where the scenery is as pretty as a postcard?
Take a stroll on the pastoral oceanfront bluff of the Fiscalini Ranch. This easy, scenic trail begins
at the end of Windsor Blvd. Visit the Scarecrows Festival during the full month of October.
The artists & businesses of Cambria display more than 100 hand-crafted whimsical scarecrows.
CambriaScarecrows.com. You won’t want to miss seeing the Elephant Seals at the viewing area
1 mile south of the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse. Feel free to ask the docents in the blue jackets
any questions you might have, as the seals are their ‘babies’! Ragged Point is worth the short
drive North on Highway 1, and upon arriving you will see why: rugged cliffs and a majestic
view of the ocean are truly awe inspiring.

Hearst Castle® is open for tours daily, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New
Year’s Day. Day tours start at 8:20 a.m. with the last tour starting around 3:20 pm. in winter,
later in summer. Daytime tours take about 1 hour and 45 minutes, which include the round
trip from the visitor center. Tours depart the Visitor Center by bus at the time printed on the
ticket. An audio tape program provides background information during the 15 minute,
five mile trip to the Castle. All tours are unique and
exciting and will include a half mile walk with stairs,
so wear comfortable shoes. Physically challenged tours
are available-for more information call (800) 444-4445.
