Development Message
Peter, Andrew James and John were not
theologians, they were not known for their skills
in speaking or influencing crowds. They were
fishermen, but God recognized something in
those first apostles, and He sees the same in
us. Each of us has been blessed with skills and
gifts and God calls us to use them to build His
Kingdom. St. Mark’s Development office wishes
to help you connect with ways to share your
skills and gifts. Please contact Amy to learn
more, 208 375 6651 ext. 102.

The St. Mark’s Story
What Catholic Schools Mean to Me
My family has moved to 4 different cities. Each move has brought different challenges. For me
the hardest change is always the new school. Being the new kid in a new place is hard. Trying to
make people like you is hard. The fear of fitting in and being accepted is a fear that never gets
easier to deal with. However, the factor that has made all of my moves a little easier, is the fact
that my parents have enrolled me in Catholic schools wherever we moved. Although we moved
to different parts of the country, Catholic schools were the one constant I could count on. While
each move put new people and new circumstances before me, there were a few characteristics
that I grew to recognize would be there no matter what part of the country we were in. Plaid
uniforms and weekly Mass were in every Catholic school. I could count on the fact that I would
find caring teachers, challenging academics, approachable school principals, and instant
community in all of the Catholic schools I attended. I am especially thankful for the four years that
I spent at St. Mark’s Catholic school. I appreciate the opportunity I had to witness the actions of
people dedicated to living their faith and committed to helping me to live mine. I am thankful for
Catholic schools and the part they have played in my education.

Christ has no body now but yours
no hands but yours,

Yours are the feet with which
He is to go about doing good.
Yours are the hands with which
He is to bless us now.

utilizing her unique ability to speak to people on either side of a pro-life
issue.

NFP strengthens marriages!
Live class starting Feb. 15! Natural Family Planning courses teach married and engaged couples the
scientific sympto-thermal method of fertility awareness. NFP calls for shared responsibility by husband and
wife, eliminates the use of harmful hormones and chemicals, can be used by women with irregular or painful
cycles (and often improves them), and helps couples celebrate God's vision of human sexuality. Through
NFP, fertility is viewed as a reality to live, not a problem to be solved. It is over 99% effective at postponing
pregnancy and has greater success than other interventions at helping couples struggling with infertility.
Couples regularly report a rediscovery of God's plan for married love and a strengthening of their faith. The 3
course series will be held in Boise, Sundays from 1:00-3:30, Feb. 15, Mar. 15, & April 19. Pre-registration is
required. Please contact Jeff and Erika Cowman ASAP at [email protected] for registration and location
details.
