She has been married to her husband, Bruce for 30years and has two daughters, Sarah and Rachel. Sharon is passionate about physical fitness and also enjoys cooking, reading, adventure travel and wine tasting. Sharon began her career in financial planning in 1982. She earned her Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in October of 1988 followed by her Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in October 1991. LPL Financial was chosen as her broker/dealer in 1998 and along with her partner, Marcus Hennen, also a resident of Poway, formed SharMarc Financial Advisors, Inc., fee based Registered Investment Advisory firm located on Pomerado Road in Poway. Sharon has been a member of the Poway chapter of National Charity League since 1994 where she was a board member for two of those years. As a result of her involvement with NCL she was introduced to the Poway Senior Center where she was the liaison for the Home Delivered Meals program for two years. Sharon has formed relationships with the recipients of meals and continues to deliver meals frequently. She has also volunteered for many other senior center activities and is a strong supporter of their many services. Sharon looks forward to the opportunity to serve the community of Poway through her involvement with Poway Senior Center. Nina Lococo - PVSCC Board Member Nina has lived in the City of Poway for 20 years. She is a licensed and practicing California Attorney. Nina has served as an appointed member of the Poway Senior Center Board of Directors for the past year, however her experience with the Senior Center dates back nearly nine years during her involvement with the Poway Chapter of the National Charity League, where during that time she served on the Board of Directors for three years, and as President for one year. Edward S. Oliva - PVSCC Board Member I am currently serving on the Board of Directors and would appreciate your vote to continue to serve on the board. I have lived in Poway since 1986 and retired in 2004 after 28 years in municipal government. As such, I believe I can contribute my management experience, budget expertise, personal relations, and knowledge of departmental operations and responsibilities. I have also served on several non-profit organizations. I have also volunteered with Poway youth sports programs. Thank you for your consideration of my application to serve once again on the Board of Directors. Cynthia Elizondo - PVSCC Board Member I am delighted to be a candidate to serve on the Board of Directors for the Poway Valley Senior Citizens Corporation. My family and I moved to Poway in 2000 from Northern California, and during the 14 years since we arrived, I have been involved in several not-for-profit organizations, including sitting on the board for National Charity League (a supporter of the Home-Delivered Meals Programs), Soroptimist International of Poway, and various school-related programs through the Poway Unified School District, such as PTA and Music boosters. I am also an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, where my husband, Ricardo, serves as a deacon, and I even worked for the parish for two years, as the Director of Stewardship and Development. I am an entrepreneur and have owned several small businesses throughout my career, so I know how to prepare, read and evaluate a budget, as well as set goals and work to achieve them. I’m excited to learn more about and become more active in the Poway Senior Center. Toni Kraft - PVSCC Board Member Good day- I am humbled by being asked to sit on the BOD for the PVSC for another term. My small Café in Poway sits in the heart of the City in the Country, and along with my husband we want to serve our community . I am past president of the RBBA, PUSD Foundation, and Poway Chamber of Commerce CEO. I currently sit on the BOD for the PCPA, and the Green Committee our Health and Wellness company Lifestyles InFOCUS. 7 PSC ACTIVITY SCHEDULE MONDAY TUESDAY MAH JONG 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Activity Room 2 Taye Hashiguchi 858-484-3792 Alice Johnson 858-487-9495 AIS FEELING FIT EXERCISE * 10 a.m.- 11 a.m. Note: Bill Bond Room 1 May 5 and May 12 class Chris Heslin will be 858-573-5433 canceled PACE TV (3rd Monday) 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Bill Bond Room 3 Esther Bloom Mike Goupill 858-538-6197 CARD PLAYING 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Activity Room 1 Note: Meeting on 3rd Monday for May only SD KNITTING GUILD (Meeting May 19 for this month) except July & Dec 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Bill Bond Room 1 Maggie Whitson - 619-596-0788 sandiegoknittingguild.com NEEDLE CRAFTERS 12:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. Activity Room 1 Lori Clenney 858-449-4124 ADVISORY MEETING (2nd Monday Quarterly listed inside cover ) 1 p.m. PSC Library 8 * Feeling Fit free to non-members THERAPUTIC YOGA 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Activity Room 1 Lousie Butler 415-299-0522 **Tips Welcome ** WEDNESDAY QUILTERS 9 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Craft Room 9 a.m. - 11 a.m Jerry - 1-800-434-0222 GAURDIAN ANGEL BEREVEMENT (1ST & 3RD Wed) 10:00 - 11:30 Activity Room 1 Sara Poore (619)624-0203 STEPPING OUT GROUP FOR SINGLES (1st & 3rd Tuesday) 10 a.m.- 11 a.m. Activity Rooms 1 & 2 Francis Stern 1 302-864-5061 WHAT’S YOUR OPINION? 10 a.m.- 11 a.m. Activity Room 2 Shirley Worobieff 858-391-9484 CARD PLAYING 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Activity Room 1 TAI CHI - basic moves Free to anyone! 11am - 12pm Bill Bond Room HICAP (1st Tuesday) CANASTA CARD PLAYING 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Activity Room 2 Virginia Bokhari 858-883-2424 Cell: 619-851-3391 PLAY BINGO Anyone 18 and over! 12:15 p.m. - 4 p.m. Bill Bond Rooms 1, 2 & 3 $10.00 buy-in LEGAL (2nd Tuesday) by appointment only 10 a.m.– 3 p.m. Craft Room Attorney 858-565 -1392 x 205 BINGO COMMITTEE MEETING (2nd Tuesday) 4 p.m. Library CERAMICS 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Craft Room Jan Rubacky 858-679-0625 CARD PLAYING 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Activity Room 1 JEWELRY & CRAFTS WORKSHOP1 p.m.– 3 p.m. Activity Room 2 Barbara Buxbaum 858-689-6951 LINE DANCE LESSONS With Duffy Wednesday’s (not dancing on Wed March 19) 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Bill Bond Room 1 TIPS WELCOME!
