Milton
Keynes
College
We are delighted to announce that following a lengthy tender process Risk
Management Security Services has retained the contract to protect Milton
Keynes College. This also includes their various buildings throughout the
town.
Since winning this contract 3 years ago we have developed a working
partnership with the facilities team at the college and gained a
comprehensive understanding of their requirements and service levels; this
is compounded by our monthly KPI scores meeting and exceeding the
contract requirements. As an example our average response time to alarm
activations throughout all locations is 18 minutes which is much better than
the national average.
We have recruited and trained a team of security officers for the college who are able to deal with a variety of
situations ranging from lost property to criminal incidents. Each officer has been carefully selected and managed
to ensure they can efficiently deal with all types of people including vulnerable adults and children.
This is another example of our ability to tailor a service to specific customer requirements and continuously
provide a large contract with a close and personal service through our experienced management team.
Prestigious Silver Fox Award
We are pleased to announce that since winning the security contract at Park House in London in 2012, the 20
person team we have in place have proved their abilities by being presented with a Silver Fox team award.
This award has only been given to a few other teams in all of the years that FM Contract Watch has been
running.
To achieve this award members of the team were audited individually on
items ranging from site knowledge to customer service and even
appearance. Each team member passed with flying colours making their
overall score one of the highest to date. The owner of FM Contract Watch,
Terry O’Neil commented that “The Park House team have given us one of
our most severe tests and the Silver Fox Audit team rate them very highly.
In our opinion this is exactly the sort of team that should be figuring
successfully in the annual Security Excellence Awards”.
From Left, Graham Tilly, Jonathan
Brady, Aaron Avery and Peter Smith
Security Manager, Jonathan Brady also commented “Receiving this coveted
award was a genuine honour. As the Security Manager I am very privileged
to have such a high calibre team of men and women who take great pride in
all aspects of their work. This is teamwork at it's very best and I am certain
that the team will deliver even stronger performance as this highly prestigious
and iconic site develops”

Security throughout the Health Sector
Sennheiser
Sennheiser are
known for the excellent quality of their
audio products and
when they needed a
security provider for
their premises in
Marlow they opted to
use a company that
have a proven track
record for providing a
quality service.
Sennheiser moved
from their offices in
High Wycombe to
Globe Park in Marlow
where we have
managed the security
for five years and
they were keen to
retain our knowledge
and experience of the
location.
Risk Management Security Services have been
providing a range of services to the NHS for over
20 years. One of our longest running contracts has
been with various departments of the NHS
throughout Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire
Trusts where we are employed to provide a range
of services such as Manned Guarding, CCTV
Remote Monitoring, Mobile Patrols and Keyholding & Alarm response to various
locations throughout the counties. The sites range from Hospitals to Mental
Health units and individual healthcare centres.
We also look after many private doctors and dental surgeries who require security
and have recently seen an increase in this sector. With the long hours that staff
have to work the last thing they want to is to go back to site in the middle of the
night to attend an alarm activation, which is where we come in taking the burden
away from their staff and leaving them safely tucked up in bed.
Hitachi Capital Car Solutions
We are pleased to announce that we are
now the security providers for Hitachi
Capital Car Solutions in Newbury.
Hitachi Capital were looking for a more
reliable and personal service from a
company that were easy to get in contact
with and where they would benefit from
regional support.
Once we understood the problems they were having we were able to tailor the
service to their specific requirements. We assigned a site specific manager who
is responsible for the smooth running of the contract and for dealing with any
unforeseen issues that may occur. With our 24 hour control centre providing
support to our clients and staff it ensures that Hitachi Capital Car Solutions will
always be able to contact a member of our team day or night who can help with
any issues or arrange additional services.
Focus on Westcott Venture Park
Risk Management Security Services have provided security to
Westcott Venture Park for the last 3 years and in that time we
have adapted our services to meet the changes that have
happened on the park.
The most recent change being the development of a new
entrance to the park incorporating a purpose built gatehouse for
our security staff as well as a park
shop and cafe area. This new facility
is certainly in keeping with the
standard of this unique business park. Whilst this change was some time in the
making and provided some management headaches, the end result is certainly
worth talking about.

Meet Laura Northover
What is your role within the company?
I’m a Sales Consultant tasked with bringing
in new business and can often be spotted
profiling industrial estates. I also have a
hand in the marketing for the company.
New Patrolling
Systems
What were you doing before you came to
Risk Management Security?
Before joining Risk 4 years ago I had spent
the previous 6 months travelling around the
world which was a real eye opener and an
experience I shall never forget.
We are proud to
announce that we
have now launched a
new state of the art
patrol monitoring
system in High
Wycombe, Aylesbury
& Oxford.
If there was a fire at your home, what
3 things would you save?
What a horrible thought! Firstly my 2 pet
rats (which counts as one), my vinyl
collection and my photo albums, everything else could be replaced.
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
That’s a toughie, ill have to say flying or time travel, sorry I can’t decide.
What would your last meal be?
Another tough one as I love most food, maybe a Thai banquet.
What is your favourite movie?
Oh come on that’s really hard. As an avid movie fan it changes daily, today I’m
going to go for Pretty Woman - it is a true classic.
What is one of your guilty pleasures?
Too many to choose from, I’ll have to say a good pork pie yum.
Marmite, Love it or Hate it? Love it!!!
Changes to SIA Licensing for Guarding Companies.
There have been many changes to the Security Industry Authority over the last
couple of years and one that will effect all Manned Guarding companies is the
introduction of the New Business Licensing.
All companies that employ security officers will have to have this new
compulsory licence unlike the SIA’s Approved Contractor Scheme which is
voluntary.
This will be a welcome addition to the industry as we push for tighter controls
over the standard of services provided and the methods of some suppliers that
currently offer security services..
Currently there are 745 Approved Contractors with the SIA, that, in our view is
far too many, and hopefully with the introduction of Business Licensing a new
elite list will be created with only the very best security companies in the UK
qualifying.
It has also been announced there will be a
reduction in the cost of the individual
licence but the exact amount has yet to be
finalised.
This system,
provided by Skillweb,
enables us to have
real time viewing of
all the activities of our
patrol officers as they
happen with no need
to conduct lengthy
downloads at the end
of each shift.
The new system
makes use of the
ever increasing
functionality of smart
phones and links the
traditional patrol
system functions with
a whole host of brand
new features such as
live incident reporting
including photos
directly from the
scene, patrol checklists and perhaps the
most exciting new
feature information
updates on the go.
These new devices
enable us to change
information in the
Control Centre which
can then be seen by
the officers out on the
ground.
Just for Mobiles? No,
these can also be
used where permanent guards are
based with complex
or lengthy patrols.
Security Officers:

Dorney Lakes Dragon Boat Race
This year a team from RMSS entered the Rotary Club of
High Wycombe - Dragon Boat Challenge 2013 at Dorney
Lakes in June. Thirty Six teams entered from across South
Bucks to raise money which is expected to top £10,000.
On the day of the race the sun was shining and the team
were in good spirits determined not to capsize at the very
least. The first race was tough as we learnt how to row as
a team and keep in time with the drum. The second race showed a vast improvement and by our last race we had knocked off a considerable amount of time. Sadly
not enough to get us in the final but close enough to ensure we come back next year
for another go. We all had a great time raising money for various local charities and
most of us managed to stay relatively dry, except Bjorn Hills.

Special Thanks to Anthony Ansah
The main role of security officers is to prevent serious damage through fire and
flood. This was certainly the case when Anthony prevented Missenden Abbey
from incurring damage due to a leaking coffee machine.
Our client sent us the following email “One evening the coffee machine in the
Coach House (Residential block) had a leak and water was pouring on the floor.
Although he was not able to stop the leak he kept the floor mopped throughout the
night to reduce the damage within the area. He is a very helpful and conscientious
officer and a real credit”.
New Company Benefit - Health Insurance
We are offering a new company benefit which enables our staff to get discounted
health insurance for either just themselves or their
immediate family.
We have teamed up with SimplyHealth who will give you
discounts off their range of health insurances that start
from as little as £12.25 per month up to £39.95 per month.
You can receive cash back on various treatments from
general dentistry to chiropractic fees and optical expenses.
