PAGE 3 Mass Intentions R Readings For This Week EFLECTION OF THE WEEK August 7, 2016 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time Jesus told the disciples not to be afraid, but rather to get sturdy purses to hold all they will receive from God. If they served God, their reward would be great—but it would not be the reward of worldly wealth. In the second part of the Gospel, Jesus preached the message of watchfulness and being ready for his return. In a servant explanation of his point, Jesus told them that God would be so happy to see them at the banquet that God would put on an apron and cook a meal for them. This is similar to the message Jesus gave the disciples at the Last Supper when he washed their feet in service. Reflection question: Adult: Other than Jesus, which of the ancestors of Christian faith has served as the greatest example to you? Why? Child: Which person of the Bible has been a good example to you of how to live? That the wounds of the soul can be treated with various forms of traditional and new ritual experience. That veterans heal when welcomed by civilians who take responsibility for our veterans and for the wars we ask them to fight in our name. That veterans heal when the community cares and supports soldiers on their return. A non-sectarian journey of ritual based healing of the wounds That soldiers and civilians need to be of PTSD based on ancient wisdom reconnected a common experience of healing for ourselves and for our nation. and traditions. —Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copyright © J.
