Imagine If… Kindergarten!
Betty Ann Wylie
Storyteller Betty Ann Wylie sparks students' imaginations and creativity while increasing verbal skills, vocabularies, love of reading,
writing, listening and storytelling through a program of participatory
stories, poems and songs, all featuring characters and events that
exist only in our imaginations. She will certainly be accompanied by
her invisible friend, Magalena Hagalena, who "has 10 hairs on the
top of her head. Five are alive and the other five are dead!"
Following the 45-minute interactive storytelling performance, kindergarteners
make their own Magalena Hagalena puppet and create their own stories! This
hands-on puppet making activity supports the Language Arts portion of the storytelling program. Counting, simple arithmetic and sorting support Math CCGPS.

The Secret Stories of Science!
Mama Koku
Living & Non- Living Stories.
Riley and Kiley are sister and brother. They’re also twins. They also
love science! I mean they really love science; but they are always
disagreeing about everything. In this story of opposites, they are
trying to figure out what truly is alive, and what truly is not! They’ll
need help if their story is going to end well. Mama Koku says there
are six things to look for, but can she get Riley and Kiley to agree?
We won’t know until the end…

PLAY the PLAY with CAT the CAT
Mid-Oct to Mid–Nov.
Based on Mo Willems’s beloved CAT the CAT series, this play explores the often terrifying experience of making a new friend. Using the rhyming and simple language of the books, this theatrical experience will invite
our young audience to identify Cat the Cat’s parade of animal friends, mimic their animal sounds, and even
learn a new language! When Cat the Cat meets a newcomer on the scene, the audience shares in the nerves
and the joy of the experience, and ultimately makes a room full of new friends themselves. Come play the
play with Cat the Cat!
A Bucket of Blessings
Mid-Jan. to Mid–Feb.
Near a majestic mountain in a vast jungle with many mango trees, it has not rained for weeks and weeks. The
village well and pond are dry. Monkey and his friends look everywhere for water, but they have no luck. And
then Monkey remembers a story his mama used to tell him, a story about how peacocks can make it rain by
dancing. Join Monkey on his journey and together, we can discover if this magical story is true. Filled with
traditional Indian music and dancing, this charming retelling of a classic Indian folktale promises to engage
the senses and inspire the imagination.
The Lizard & EL SOL
Early Mar. to Early April
An interactive adventure based on a famous Mexican folktale about a time when El Sol, (the Sun), disappeared from the sky. Young ones and their caregivers will help the tenacious Lizard find the sleepy El Sol and
finally coax him out of his hiding place. Colorful puppets and bright Mexican inspired music and dance will
lead everyone along in this tropical tale that promises to culminate in a grand festival to celebrate sunshine
and friendship and all the joy that life can bring!
