NEW FACES AT MIRIAM’S HOUSE I n January 2016, three new board members joined the extraordinary team of professionals who oversee the work of Miriam’s House. We are so pleased to welcome them to the Board of Directors and value their commitment to our mission of ending homelessness. Mac Frankfort is the Vice President and CFO for Wiley Wilson. He and his wife, Linie, have lived in Lynchburg for 35 years, and he currently serves on the Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation Board. He is interested in making a positive difference for women and children in crisis situations. B.J. McGraw has led corporate projects in the financial services industry for over 30 years, with a focus on sales and marketing and strategic planning. She has worked and served on multiple boards throughout the community and served on our board in the 1990’s. Todd Vie serves as priest at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lynchburg, VA. He serves in ministry with his wife, Diane, also an ordained priest in the Episcopal Church. They have one daughter, Amanda, who is a sophomore at VES. Here are just a few opportunities, but we would love to talk with you more about how you can contribute toward our mission to end homelessness through the empowerment of women and families. • Adopt a family moving out of homelessness through assisting them with the logistics of moving, bringing them a hot meal on their first night in a new place or unpacking boxes • Purchase extra household supplies (toilet paper, all purpose cleaners, trash bags) when you’re out shopping and drop them off for our families to use • Provide a welcoming home to those seeking shelter with us by planting flowers and picking weeds • Be a Table Captain at our 17th Annual Luncheon by inviting 9 friends to join you for lunch as you support our work Follow us on Facebook to learn of more opportunities to get involved with life at Miriam’s House.
