Between May 1st and October 31, buses are not permitted to stop within the walls of Québec's Old Town
except at the designated loading and unloading zones
mentionned below:
Québec City is a historic center of great
wealth and beauty. That's why millions
of people visit it each year.
Naturally, so much traffic requires sound
transportation management. In the high
tourist season, up to 45,000 buses will make
their way into Old Québec. This traffic can
cause major inconveniences for residents
and tourists alike: pollution, noise,
congested roads.
By following the guidelines in this brochure,
you can help ensure Québec City remains an
attractive and enjoyable city for everyone.

Buses are not permitted to park within the walls of
Old Québec. A site without parked buses is a site that
can better reveal the richness of it's historical buildings and landscape.

Unless your guide is meeting you elsewhere outside
the historic part of town, groups that take up the services of a local city guide must determine the meeting
point in front of the Manège Militaire as shown on the
map by this pictograph.
When a bus is stationary, the motor must be turned
off or the vehicle will be subject to a fine between
$150 and $4000. A small gesture that tremendously
reduces the nuisances associated with the presence of
buses.

LOCAL CITY TOURS AND STARTING
POINT
Avoid the hassles of driving in the city by using the
services of local city guided tours that take you and
your group all around. The tours starting point is identified on the map by this pictograph.

TAXI
This lane is reserved for city buses (RTC-Réseau de
Transport de la Capitale), motor-coaches and taxis.
However, motor-coaches may not use this lane on
René-Lévesque boulevard.
Parking is prohibited when the light is flashing (snow
removal).
QUÉBEC CITY DISPATCHERS
During the summer season, Québec City dispatchers
will be available on site to help direct and inform you.
Take a helping hand...your stay will be all the more
pleasant.
Loading and unloading zones are
vehicules for up to 10 minutes.

different areas of the Old Town are also available for
up to 10 minutes to pick up or drop off passengers for
all activities.

up and drop off passengers with their luggage. The
general loading and unloading zones are to be used in
all other instances.
