Welcome to Jenison Christian School’s Auction 2015! Your
participation in this event will greatly support various needs of both
the elementary school and the middle school. We appreciate your
attendance and support – both in donating items and in
purchasing them. Please take a few moments to read the list of
the businesses and friends of JCS who willingly contributed to
tonight’s auction. Thank them, and if possible, patronize their
businesses in the future.
We would also like to thank, above all, our loving heavenly Father,
who is the giver of all our earthly possessions. May we be found
faithful as He is faithful!

The Mexican buffet, catered by On the Border,
is located down the hallway from the gym.
Dining tables are in the Middle School Lounge;
live music is provided by the JCS Middle School
Jazz Band.
Dinner: $7/person (5 & under free)
Menu: fajita & taco bar, flautas, empanadas, enchiladas, beans
and rice, and chips with salsa, guacamole and pico de gallo.

IMPORTANT NOTES
ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION
The main entrance for the auction is at the gym doors, located
at the back of the school. Upon arrival at the auction, guests
are registered for a bidder number upon entering the gym
(usually one per family).

Please make note of minimum starting bids and minimum
bid increases. Only whole dollar amounts permitted.
If you place a bid on an item in the silent, super silent, or
gift certificate area, please stay until that event closes.
Once an event closes, please do not attempt to place
another bid.
Please check out with a cashier to settle invoice balances
and to collect items or certificates you have won.
CHECKOUT PROCEDURES
Cashiers will be placed at the main doors of the gym. It is very
important that all bidders settle invoices prior to leaving, taking
time to check for accuracy. We are able to accept cash, check
or debit/credit cards (new this year). Should you choose to use a
debit/credit card at checkout, a 2.75% fee will be added to your
invoice to cover the cost of debit/credit processing. You may pick
up your certificates for the Gift Certificate Wall at the checkout
table. Your financial support of JCS is GREATLY appreciated!
ATTENTION ALL JCS SUPPORTERS
Internal Revenue Service regulations require all charities to provide
receipts for any purchase over $75 if the donor receives something
in return for the contribution. Also, you may claim as a tax
deduction only the portion of the purchase price that exceeds the
fair market value of the item. *Items listed in the program as
“priceless” are 100% charitable contributions because no fair
market value exists for them. We will prepare a receipt for you
based on these stipulations at checkout.

SPECIAL PROJECT
JENISON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL KITCHEN UPGRADE:
One step this year toward enhancing our school includes this
special project of upgrading our school kitchen.
Because of important state sanitation rules, the current kitchen
coolers can only be utilized by our hot lunch program, leaving no
storage for other school events, activities, JCS Parent Club
functions, or gym rental users. This kitchen upgrade will allow
volunteers and the JCS team to work together, creating an area
devoted to additional coolers and space for cold and frozen
items. With the extra space, more storage solutions – including new
shelves and rolling racks – will help make for a more organized
environment.
If more funds are raised, the money will go toward the purchase of
a new dishwasher and the plumbing system for it. New kitchen
utensils, cutlery, dish towels/cloths, and other supplies will also be
purchased with any additional funds raised.
KITCHEN UPGRADE TOTAL GOAL: $8,000
To contribute, you can do one of the following:
 Fill out the tear-off section at the back of this booklet and
turn it in to the Special Project Table at the auction
 Fill out a Special Project Donation card at the auction and
turn in to a cashier or the Special Project Table.
 At checkout, ask a cashier to add a specific amount to
your invoice to be donated toward the kitchen upgrade.
 If you are not able to attend the auction, you can still
donate cash or checks for this special project any time
after March 6. The office will have envelopes available.
We will periodically announce the updated amount raised during
the auction. You may place additional bids as the night progresses
to help us reach our goal.

How to play: Buy your bracelets at the Heads or Tails table. Toward
the middle of the live auction, players with bracelets are called
forward and choose either their head or their tail, putting both
hands on their choice. Principal Paauw flips a coin – if it matches
where your hands are, you stay; if not, you lose a bracelet.
Players continue playing until they have no more bracelets left.
Last one with a bracelet wins!

drawing for the grand prize, a $1000 JCS Tuition

How it works:

Using the bidding slips, place bidding number and bid in baskets throughout the
evening until bid board closes. Bid as often as you’d like.

Minimum starting bids are indicated for each item if applicable.

Bidders must raise bids by increments of at least $2.00.

At close of silent auction, highest bidder for each item wins. Winning slips will be
attached to the items.

It is the bidder’s responsibility to check table for final winning bids.
