"The Blessed Sacrament is the “Living Heart” of each of our churches and it is our very sweet duty to honor and adore the Blessed Host, which our eyes see, the Incarnate Word, Whom they cannot see." (Pope Paul VI, Credo of the People of God) Consider spending one hour each week in Adoration of Our Eucharistic LORD. You will be so glad you did! Call the office for times or email: [email protected]. The Social & Charitable Club The Social & Charitable Club is asking the parish for individual servings of non perishable foods: cans of Vienna Sausages, tuna, fruit, applesauce, pudding, chips, crackers, fruit or granola bars and bottled water to be placed in the wooden box located by the elevator. And lets not forget our Veterans. We also provide them with care packages so we are always in need of the following items: Underwear, house shoes, shampoo, t-shirts, toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, sweat pants/tops, deodorant and soap. Back to School Prayer Father of all mercies We ask that you would bless the youngest and littlest of learners, the most helpless and powerless of persons, with Your infinite and loving mercy, granting them the strength to learn, concentrate, and act appropriately towards their teachers and fellow students. We also ask that You would watch over them, at home and at school and grant them proper direction so that they may learn of Your wonderful virtues. We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. After many years of faithful service to St. Joseph's Old Cathedral, the Carmelite Sisters of Villa Teresa have decided, that our beloved Sr. Susan Clark, CST, is not going to return to be a full-time member of our staff this coming fall. Sr. Susan usually takes the summers off, but her superiors have decided that she needs to slow down a bit and move in another direction. As pastor, I tried to find a compromise, but the decision had been made and we support Sr. Susan in her vocation and understand the vow of Holy Obedience. We will have a celebration to thank Sr. Susan for her many years of faithful ministry as the summer concludes. Details will be announced in the weeks ahead.
