Open Letter To The New Year

For years, we have written a letter to the brand new babe, and this year is no exception.
The year just passed was a bummer for many, for millions who suffered, bled and died
in wars in several countries and sickness all over the planet. The year was
also bad for millions of Americans in
financial troubles, bankruptcies, and
foreclosures, but it was not the fault
of any single individual in Washington but, thank God House Republicans finally relented to pass the jobs
and payroll tax cuts for two months.
The best thing about it is that millions
of unemployed people will continue
to get paid. But the best news is that
millions of senior citizens will benefit
Medicare. If the parties had not agreed,
people on Medicare would see a 27%
reduction to doctors and many doctors
would be forced to drop those as patients because of this momentous decision. Many doctors would have dropped patients,
and it is not their own fault, but the blame goes to politicians throughout Washington.
Thank God it did not happen because of this last minute 11th deal. Each year at this time
we point out that the rich have gotten richer and poor have gotten poorer. It is the rich
that jump in swimming pools in mid-July and drink till their hearts are content. We feel
sorry for the young people who may be short changed in the future as far as Social Security and Medicare avail abilities are concerned. Let us hope the preachers will preach
the Word in 2012 instead of some few whose constant watchword is M-O-N-E-Y. Let’s
hope there will be more sunny days in 2012 than rainy days and let’s hope it will be a
better year for all of us. From us, as a lowly writer for the popular Penny Saver, let’s
hope many of our prayers and dreams come true.
