Our Christian sympathy goes out to Alan Beahan and his family
upon the death of his daughter, Shandi Beahan, January 5, 2014.

upon the death of her grandmother, Margie Hasty, January 2, 2014.
We express our Christian sympathy to the family of FCC member,
Elizabeth Wilson, who passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in
Tucson, AZ. Arrangements for her funeral in Hannibal are pending at
this time.
Congratulations to Anna & Jeff Thomas upon the birth of their
son, Hudson Wade, born Jan. 7 at 1:24 p.m. Proud grandfather is
Bruce Anton.
WONDERFUL lessons in Sunday School!
Sunday School lessons in pre-school through 5th grade are currently
focusing on the LIFE AND MINISTRY OF JESUS as we lead up to Lent
and Easter. These weeks are vital and wonderful learning opportunities
for our children. Load up the children and the children of other family
and friends! 9:15 on Sunday mornings on the 3rd floor. Parents are
welcome to attend with your children.
BARKER’S BYTES...
Well, Happy New Year to you too, Mother Nature! We were greeted
with cold temperatures, ice, and snow for the beginning of 2014 and
we were not real happy. I have enjoyed over hearing conversations
about how we haven’t seen cold like this since “I was a kid”.
True, most of the kids are enjoying the extra time off from school;
going outside, however brief, to play in the snow building forts and
sledding down a hill. My grandson can’t understand why he can’t
stay out longer.
Regardless of the weather conditions, we still have time to worship
and give God thanks for the beauty of the snow and the pleasure of
family. We look forward to the New Year here at FCC; resuming
many ministries and the new ministries we will embark on together.
I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday.

New Bible Study, Love and Respect,
begins Thursday, February 6, 6-8 pm
Love and Respect began years ago with Ephesians 5:33 and a Pastor
who wanted to do more for the couples that were coming to him for
counsel. Now the Love and Respect message is sweeping the nation
answering the long asked relationship questions: Why do we
negatively react to each other? How do we motivate each other? and
What if my spouse doesn’t respond?
Now Love and Respect is coming to First Christian Church on
Thursday nights beginning February 6th, 6:00-8:00 pm. Just call the
office and get signed up today! All you need is a $10.00 discussion
guide and a commitment to stick with this group for the 14 week
study. This study is for old and young, single and committed,
wherever you are at in your relationship with a member of the
opposite sex, God’s Word has something valuable to make it even
better. Discussion guides are available in the church office.
