Steve and Lisa Tapper graciously
opened their beautiful home to host the
Buick club’s annual Christmas party. A
great time visiting and eating some fine
fare was had by all. Above, Kent Hagler
accepts his award as the 2007 car show
season points champion. In the picture
below Kent, is Tim Winn accepting his
award as the 2007 LSPBC drag racing
series season points champion.
A Word From the Vice-President
Here are the details of what was discussed at the recent club meeting:
Club Dues:
These were due as of January 1st
and are valid through December 31st.
The charge for dues will happily remain at $30 per year for 2008.
Club T-shirts:
We plan on having a batch of 50 “Big Bad Buick”
style T-shirts produced. Their sizes will range from
medium through “XX” Any other sizes will be required to be special ordered. You can email me
your size(s) if needed. The club will only charge
$15 for any of the regular sizes. These should be
available at the next club meeting. Also available
by special order only are Golf shirts with the
LSPBC logo on the front chest. Cost for each of
these will be finalized at a later date.
I predict
that they will be somewhere in the $20 to $30
range depending on your size requirements. You
can email your requests to me for these as well at
[email protected].
Next club meeting:
The next club meeting will be held at PAPA's BBQ
on Saturday, March 29th at 6:30pm.
Newsletters:
The newsletters for 2008 will be issued on a quarterly basis at the end of March, June, September
& December. All material for the newsletter must
be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the
scheduled issue date to be included in that newsletter. All club members are encouraged to submit
tech articles, stories and etc. for the newsletter.
Pinks Car:
The club had already received a car donated by
David Poyner. Paul Alberti, Bryan’s father, has
allowed the club to store it at his shop in Midlothian during the construction process. I will submit
a parts list of what is needed and what we have
another time. We did have some more parts
pledged at the last meeting to add to the list. A
set of ported heads, a fiberglass bumper, a set of
T-Type rims and slicks.
There are also going to be items on the car that
we will not need. These will be sold on Ebay and
the money will go back in to the car. Again, a big
thanks goes to club member David Poyner for donating the car.
3rd Saturday Cruise nights:
We will be negotiating again with Prizim Partners
in the coming weeks to establish locations for the
2008 show schedule. Please stay tuned for more
info.
2nd Saturday Race night at Redline:
These details should finalized very soon. Please
stay tuned for more information.
Upcoming events:

The club will have a 10 car display
Feb. 23rd: Lone Star Buick X Bash in Temple
