Meeting With Ambani - Sundar C Babu
Sundar C Babu, the music director son of renowned veena player Chitti Babu, is riding high on the
wave of Nadodigal and is on cloud nine. A chance meet with India's leading business baron,
Mukesh Ambani, has left Sundar euphoric. Sharing this incident exclusively with Top 10 cinema
he recalls, “It was the most inspiring moment of my life.” Telling us how it happened he says, “I had
gone to the Reliance office in Mumbai to meet PP Venkat. He has sung devotional music earlier
and is the new playback singer I am introducing in ‘Agam Puram’. Venkat happens to work at
Reliance in Mumbai. Thanks to providence, I was able to meet Mr Mukesh Ambani himself in a
most unexpected way . I was floored by his simplicity and warmth.”
Sundar recalls Ambani’s words to him, “I have heard about your songs and earlier works. I wish
you do Hindi movies soon.” A nervous but ecstatic Sundar replied, “May your words come true” and
then had a rare photo clicked as well. “He led me to the room where his father Dhirubhai Ambani’s
portrait hung and gave me the rare opportunity of having a picture clicked with all three of us in it.
It’s a most inspiring and unforgettable experience for me,” says Sundar.
Sundar feels that the meeting has taught him a lot. “His dedication and passion to do things
perfectly has re-inforced the passion for work within me as well. His warmth and care during the
meeting despite a schedule that involves running a multi-crore empire, has left a lasting impression
on me.” Who knows this stroke of luck may be a precursor to scaling greater heights in his music
career as well.
