The Raza Rights Coalition is an alliance of independent Chicano Mexicano/Raza
Latino-Americano organizations and individuals united to defend and elevate the
human rights and dignity of our people. We have formed this alliance to resist the
injustice, racism, exploitative economic interest, oppressive government policies,
and violation of our civil and human rights that have been carried out since the
occupation and colonization of Northern Mexico by the United States of America
in 1848 and in a larger sense since the arrival of European conquerors half a millennia ago.
This Is What We Believe:
Sooner or later, the millions of Mexicanos that are economically exploited, politically
repressed and oppressed, will choose to defend ourselves, we will organize ourselves,
and we will liberate ourselves and there will be no law, physical force, or governmental
institution that will be able to hold back our liberation.
The existence of the Raza Rights Coalition is based on the basic right of our people
to pursue justice, equality, and a life free of racism, exploitation, sexism, ignorance,
physical and cultural repression, insecurity, racist laws, and police/migra brutality. This
is the future we are building.
We believe in building independent community based organization and power, free
from all government institutions and corruption, promoting political, economic, and sociocultural self-determination.

¡Que Viva La Mujer en Lucha!
In Solidarity With Our Comrade Sisters Worldwide
O
n March 10, 2007, 20 Raza women came
together to discuss the importance of
raising the social-political consciousness of
women, bringing more women into the struggle,
building the leadership that is necessary if Raza
are to win our liberation. Organized by the
Comité de Mujeres Patricia Marin (CMPM), a
mass based project of Unión del Barrio (UdB)
and member of the Raza Rights Coalition
(RRC), this commemorative meeting had as
its objective the celebration of International
Women’s Day and to increase activism of Raza
women at all levels of our struggle.
Annually, the CMPM organizes events as a
way to commemorate, celebrate and honor
“International Women’s Day”, as we unite in
solidarity with our comrade sisters worldwide
who struggle and defend the rights of women
that died in the horrible factory fire, as well as
recognize those women who took to the streets to
demand human rights for all workers.
At the commemorative meeting of March 10,
the Comité de Mujeres Patricia Marin, honored
International Women’s Day with a film titled
“When The Mountains Tremble”. This film
is about Rigoberta Manchu, a leader of the
struggle for justice and dignity of Indigenous
and working people in Guatemala during the
1980’s. After the film, a question and answer
session took place in which the important role
that women play in creating positive change
in our society was reflected upon by everyone
present.

Day has roots in the early 1900’s when poor
immigrant European women, who worked in
deplorable conditions in the textile industry in
New York, took to the streets by the thousands
to protest the inhumane working conditions and
treatment perpetuated by capitalist greed. These
mass protests and strikes were a response to a
fire at a factory that killed hundreds of women
and children.
These women and children worked 14-hour days
for slave wages and no benefits, and in extremely
dangerous conditions. Several years later at an
International Conference of Socialist and Worker
Organizations the great Russian revolutionary V.I.
Lenin proposed to designate March 8th as a day
in which to honor the poor working class women
Day. To us, it is a time to reflect upon the women
who have sacrificed and struggled to advance the
liberation of oppressed people around the world
from our common enemy; which is capitalism
and imperialism. An economic system which
is responsible for stealing the wealth that we
as workers produce and relegating us to the
miserable and unjust situation found in the Raza
community. The rich ruling class does not allow
us to have arelevant education, instead they use
police/migra brutality against us; they send
us to racist courts; build more prisons for our
families; do migra raids in our community. So
it’s up to us to make the changes that will create
the world we all desire.

WE MUST SMASH THE COLONIAL
PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX
•Everyday, more and more, poor and working class
people, mostly Raza-Indigenous and African Americans,
are sent to prison due to poverty and social conditions in
which they exit.
•Everyday raids in the community by goons from ICE (Immigration
and Customs Enforcement ) drag Raza men, women, and children to
prison, accused of being “illegal” in a land that historical belongs them.
•Everyday young people are “pushed out” of school by an education
that is irrelevant and racist, leading to a life of despair, poverty, or
prison.
•Everyday hundreds of prisoners are brutally beaten, raped, or killed,
by prison guards or by violence among prisoners initiated by prison
officials and the deplorable conditions of prisons.
•Everyday the voice of those most impacted by prisons, is denied or silenced by the media, government, or the
puppets (vendidos) they front as community leaders.
•Everyday attempts by the community to organized are suppressed by colonial society (government, police,
media, etc.), creating divisions among people most affect by the injustices of society.
•Everyday, the rich capitalist pigs commit crimes against the people and are never brought to court or sent to
prison.

¡AQUÍ ESTA LA SOLUCIÓN!
La Coalición Pro-Derechos de la Raza es una alianza de organizaciones e individuos
Chicanos Mexicanos y Latinoamericanos unidos para defender y promover los derechos humanos y la dignidad de nuestro pueblo. Hemos formado dicha alianza para
resistir y superar el racismo, la explotación, la marginación, la política gubernamental
opresiva y la violación cotidiana de nuestros derechos civiles, democráticos y humanos
que se han llevado acabo en nuestra contra desde la ocupación y la colonización del
territorio norte de México en 1848, y, en un contexto mas amplio, desde la colonización
de este continente por invasores europeos hace mas de 500 años.
Así Pensamos:
Mucho más temprano que tarde, los millones de mexicanos que somos explotados
económicamente, que somos victimas de la represión y la opresión, optaremos por la
autodefensa, por la organización, seremos libres, y no habrá ley, fuerza o gobierno que
pueda detener nuestro proceso libertario.
La existencia de la Coalición Pro-Derechos de La Raza se basa en los derechos
fundamentales de nuestro pueblo por alcanzar la justicia, la igualdad y una existencia
libre del racismo, de la explotación, del sexismo y de la ignorancia. Buscamos una vida
digna donde la represión, la inseguridad y la brutalidad de la policía y de la migra sean
cosas del pasado. Este es el futuro que hoy empezamos a construir.
Creemos en la construcción de una organización independiente y democrática,
libre de instituciones gubernamentales, que promueva nuestra cultura y el derecho
innegable a la libre determinación de nuestro pueblo.
POR ESTO LUCHAMOS:
1. Empleo total con trabajos sindicalizados y salarios dignos
2. Educación culturalmente relevante y de calidad, publica y accesible en todos los
niveles, para nuestra juventud- incluyendo educación bilingüe y Estudios Chicanos/

3. Servicios de salud gratuitos y de calidad para todo el pueblo
4. Vivienda decente y económicamente alcanzable
5. Control comunitario de la policía y los Sheriffs

8. Alto al intervencionismo de Estados Unidos en México, América Latina y el mundo
9. Suspensión inmediato al los Tratados de Libre Cormercio (TLCAN, TLCCA, ALCA,
etc.) y apoyo total a la Alternativa Bolivariana para las Américas (ALBA)
10. Exigimos un medio ambiente limpio y saludable.
