The Mini
Church Bell
Transformed by Christ, we will:
TELL,TEACH,TOUCH the World.
From dream to reality
It’s the most wonderful time of year …. blah blah blah. Yes.
Blah, blah, blah.
If you are dealing with depression during the holidays that
is how all the Christmas hype can sound.
Just a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal or blah, blah, blah.
The blahs get nosier if you need help and cannot afford it.
I am so thankful to be part of a church that has been
supporting the dream – which is now a reality – of
COMPASSION COUNSELING CENTER. I hope you read
the article in the Maryville Daily Times and have visited the
center’s website at www.compassion-counseling.com.
Greta Smith, Suzanne Stratton, and Rev. Brenda Carroll
had a vision nearly five years ago of a counseling center
for anyone – whether he or she could afford to pay or not.
The ribbon-cutting will have happened by the time you read this!
There are two group sessions being offered soon (Details on next page). Please let folks know about them – or
perhaps, you would benefit from them yourself!
Blessings,
In just a few days, hundreds of people will gather in
Asbury Hall for the annual Churchwide Thanksgiving
Dinner. All you need to bring is a side dish or
dessert to share. Meat, bread and beverages will be
provided. Following the meal, there will be music
from the 1st UMC youth choirs!
Help us know how many folks are coming by signing up online at www.1stchurch.org or
calling the church office at 982-1273.
