SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH
St. Eulalia Parish will sponsor Women in
Transition: Refocus, Renew, Relaunch on Saturday, April
9th. Join us to explore the meaning of transition in your life.
We have invited professional women who have experienced
their own transitions and who have helped others through various life stages to give input to this day. Come learn and share!
More information to follow.
Dear Parishioners,
Peter Walkers writes, “It is no wonder that Christians become
excited when it comes to the Resurrection! For regardless of
the precise historical and archaeological details, the Resurrection itself is the source of our joy. It is the basis for our faith in
Jesus – the one whom God vindicated as Messiah and Lord,
and as his Son. It is the grounds for our hope in a world of
suffering and death. And it is the event which enables us to
experience the powerful love of God, which can overcome the
evil in our own hearts and in the world. The Resurrection is a
divine bombshell dropped into the heart of the world, loaded
with truth, and utterly transforming in its effects.
For this reason I would like to encourage you and your family
to participate in the liturgies of the Holy Triduum beginning
on Holy Thursday evening and culminating on Easter Sunday.
Enclosed within this bulletin you will find a schedule of the
various liturgical services. This is also a good time to invite a
family member or friend to join you. Together as a parish we
nourish each other in faith, and we are called to reach out and
to share with others the spiritual treasures that are present in
our liturgical worship.
May this year’s celebration of the Triduum be a blessing for
you and our parish.
Your Pastor,

ST. EULALIA STAFF REUNION
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13, AT 7:30 PM
You are invited to join with priests and lay persons who have
previously served our parish at a celebratory “folk Mass.”
Please come and participate with Marilyn Poole and former
folk group members, The Eulalians, to celebrate our past, as
our 50th anniversary year continues. A reception will follow
in Manion Hall so you can spend some time catching up with
your friends, priests and laity who formerly served at St. Eulalia.
NIGHT OF REFLECTION WITH REV. JAMES MARTIN, S.J.
Monday, April 4th at 7:30 PM
In celebration of its 50th Anniversary, the Church of Saint Eulalia invites you to a Night of Reflection on
Monday, April 4, at 7:30 P.M. The evening will feature a presentation on “Encountering Jesus: Meeting
the Jesus of History and the Christ of Faith” by Rev. James Martin, S.J., current Editor at Large of America magazine. Rev. Martin is a popular speaker and author, widely recognized for his New York Times
best sellers: Jesus a Pilgrimage and The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything: A Spirituality for Real Life. He has spoken to gatherings of clergy and laity at many Catholic dioceses and archdiocese, as well as colleges and universities across the country. Fr. Martin
has also written many articles in the popular press and has appeared frequently on major radio and television networks. In 2014, he
was invited by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to speak at World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro. He resides in America
House Jesuit community in New York and assists at the Church of S. Ignatius Loyola in New York City. For a full list of St. Eulalia

GOOD FRIDAY HOLY LAND COLLECTION
PLEASE POST IN A PROMINENT SPOT
Good Friday’s collection for the Holy Land is, in the words of
Paul VI is “not only for the Holy Places but above all for
those pastoral, charitable, educational, and social works which
the Church supports in the Holy Land for the welfare of their
Christian brethren and of the local communities.” Special
envelopes are in the foyer.
Please join us during this Holy Week for our
solemn remembrance of the
Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.
EASTER CLERGY BENEFIT COLLECTION
The Easter collection this year supports the health and wellbeing of our priests. The 614 active and senior priests in our
Archdiocese have dedicated their lives to serving the Catholic
faithful and our Church of Boston. Now, it is our turn to care
for them. Please give generously to our parish collection this
Easter using the envelopes that will be provided. You also
can make your gift online at clergyfunds.org, or simply text
PRIEST to 565123 (messaging and data rates may apply).
Thank you in advance for your prayers and generous support
of the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust.
Winchester Area Voice of the Faithful
invite you to a special presentation
Women in the Year of Mercy:
Expanding Opportunities for Women's Leadership
in the Church
Guest Speaker:
Betty Anne Donnelly
Betty Anne Donnelly was at the Vatican on International
Women’s Day, March 8, 2016, for the third Voices of Faith
storytelling event, which she had sponsored and supported.
She is one of a group of female Catholic foundation leaders
who are responsible for the Voices of Faith initiative, which
"provides a place in the heart of the Vatican for women to
share their stories of strengthening the Church’s mission
through their leadership." Importantly, these same leaders
have, for several years, engaged in dialogue with top Vatican officials on the role of women in the Church. The conversations will continue.

Church from September 2005 through August 2012.
Any high school or college age parishioner wishing to apply
for the scholarship should complete and submit the application form (found in the foyer of the church or in the Parish

granted to the recipient on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the 5 PM

APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE FOYER
We continue to welcome donations to this Scholarship
Fund. Checks should be made payable to “Rev. Thomas
F. Nestor Scholarship Fund” and dropped in the OSR
box or mailed to the office. Any amount is welcome.
Thank you.
CAN YOU HELP US?
We need your help. Could you kindly help us keep the
church neat by putting the hymnal books back in the
rack and the white prayer card in front of them at the
end of Mass. Also, if you see any old bulletins or other
papers, please put them at the end of the pew and we
will dispose of them. We would be most appreciative.
MARCH 20, 2016
AN INVITATION TO EXPERIENCE
the ‘Way of the Cross’
This coming Good Friday (March 25th) at 3:00
PM marks the 19th Holy Week that the Youth of
St. Eulalia have shared their God given talents
with our parish community as they again present
the “Way of the Cross” in beautiful harmony with
the Contemporary Music Group. This annual reenactment of Christ’s final steps has offered our congregation a
unique glimpse into the images that grace the walls and gardens of
churches around the world.
MARIAN MILE
Join us in church as we pray the Rosary. We
meet on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm. This is a great way to
exercise spiritually. When the weather improves, we will
resume our walks outside through the Prayer Garden.
PARISH FITNESS CLASS
All are invited to Manion Hall for a one hour gentle strength and balance exercise class every Friday following the 9 AM Mass. No sign-up needed. Just come as you are!

STRUGGLING IN YOUR MARRIAGE? YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
If your marriage is tearing the two of you apart, if there is little
or no meaningful communication, if you are considering separation or divorce, we believe Retrouvaille can help. You are
NOT alone! Our peer ministry is led by couples who have
lived through the honeymoon phase often followed by deep
disillusionment before finally finding resurrection in their marriages using the tools taught in this program. Rediscover a
loving marriage with a Retrouvaille (pronounced re-tro-vy)
weekend.
The upcoming New England Retrouvaille marriage renewal
weekends in 2016 will be held April 8-10 and Sep 16-18.
To register for the weekend or for more information, call
1-800-470-2230 or visit www.HelpOurMarriage.com.

The 2016 Boston Catholic Directory has arrived. If you would
like to purchase one at our cost of $25, please see Laura in the
parish office. The supply is limited, so it’s first come first serve.
2016 ONE SHARED RESPONSE (OSR) UPDATE
As of the end of February, we have received 518 pledges to
OSR, for $623,000. In addition, there are approximately 200
on-line contributors. These pledges are below the amount last
year at this time. If you have not yet made your 2016 OSR
pledge, please consider doing so whenever you are
able. Remember, your pledge covers all expenses of running
our parish, as well as special collections. The liturgy is never
interrupted by passing "the basket". We are confident that St.
Eulalia's parishioners will respond in their usual generous manner.

will be open for individual confession. The archdiocese has set
up a website, www.TheLightIsOnForYou.org, to help you prepare. It has videos on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, sheets
on how to make a good confession, answers to frequently-asked
questions and more. Please make plans to come on Lenten
Wednesdays and spread the word of this special outreach of
mercy to those you know.

Thanks to the 94 donors who responded to the Cardinal's direct
mail appeal, pledging $52,285, representing 55% of our
$94,932 goal. We are also grateful to the 210 families who submitted an in-pew solicitation envelope on Commitment Weekend. We exceeded our goal! Those have not yet been processed and are not reflected in the numbers above. If you have
not yet pledged to the 2016 Catholic Appeal, there is still time
to do so. Envelopes are available in the booklet rack in the
