Liebe Chapter- Mitglieder,
Ich werde Euch immer, wenn es etwas Interessantes oder Neues
gibt, davon berichten. Nachdem wieder ein GDS-Kongress stattgefunden hat, hier das Neueste mit ein paar tollen Fotos.
Ein traumhafter, sehr gelungener, „internationaler GDS Kongress Sept. 2015„ ist über die Bühne gegangen in
Bristol / England
Im Hotel Bristol, in Bristol, war im
wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, der
Bär los! Wir kamen am Donners-
den Kongress ab und in der Hotelbar war schon ein großes Hallo! Alle freuten sich, wieder ihre
„Freunde“ zu treffen.
Kim Littlechild und ihre Helfer hatten alle Hände voll zu tun, die Puppen und Bären anzunehmen, sie
in den Jury-Raum zu bringen und
tag den 3.9. um 17.30 im Hotel an!
Im Foyer des Hotels Bristol, war
die GDS und DAG –Puppeneinreichung im vollen Gange. Die Delegierten holten ihre Unterlagen für
die Unterlagen zu verteilen. Dies
dauerte bis in den späten Abend
und Freitag-Vormittag.
Gillian Richards, Head Jugde
beim GDS, begrüßte begeistert
die Delegierten und wir verabredeten uns zum Abendessen!
Weltweite Freundschaft durch Puppen
Von unserem Chapter kamen Ute
Lutz und Berni Stenek zum Kongress.
Am Freitag ging es dann los im
Jury Raum! Wir hatten ca. 120
Puppen zum bewerten und die
DAG ca. 80! Es waren wieder sehr
viele wunderschöne, perfekt gearbeitete, Exponate dabei. Die Jury
hatte sehr viel Arbeit und harte
Entscheidungen. Wie immer gab
es überglückliche Puppenmacher
und manche , die mit der Bewertung der Jury, doch nicht ganz zufrieden waren. Aber ich glaube, wir
haben gute Arbeit geleistet.
Der Freitag - Abend stand unter
dem Motto „Circus“. Toll kostümierte Damen und Herren waren
dabei. Das Buffet war ausgezeichnet, die Tische wunderschön
dekoriert, mit feinen englischen
Pralinen in einer lustigen Box. Die
drei Künstlerinnen, die den Abend
musikalisch gestaltet haben, haben souverän gesungen! Es wurde getanzt und gelacht, bis spät
in die Nacht. Die Tombola-Preise
wurden Freitag und Samstag verteilt. Die Mitglieder kauften fleißig
Lose und so konnten an das Kinder - Spital 900,00 Pfund gespendet werden.
Am Samstag wurden die Kunstwerke der Puppen und Bären-Macher weiter begutachtet und die
Medaillen und Awards bestimmt.
Während die Jury Ihrer Arbeit
nachkam, hat „Bob“,. Gillians
Mann , mit den Delegierten, Bristol angeschaut und schöne Spa-
ziergänge angeboten.
Viele sind auch mit dem Stop and
go Bus durch Bristol gefahren und
haben so die Stadt, die übrigens
eine der schönsten ist, angeschaut. Die ganze Stadt ist voll mit
Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie schöne
Gebäude, Kirchen, Dom, Bahnhof,
die SSL Brunnel – das Museumsschiff, Clifton Bridge und die vielen, schönen Geschäfte, bringen
so manchen in Verlegenheit! (Soll
ich oder soll ich nicht)
Gala Dinner
Das Gala Dinner am Samstag -Abend war vom Feinsten und die Stimmung und Erwartung sehr groß!
Zuerst wurden die Preise der DAG verliehen.
Dann begannen Gillian Richards, Kim Littlechild und Valborg Hetland, mit der Preisverleihung der GDS! Im
Anhang befindet sich die Gewinner-Liste! Viele konnten sich vor Freude kaum zurückhalten und weinten, als
sie die Preise verliehen bekommen haben.
Eines der schönsten Highlights des Abends war das Gast- Geschenk ! Ann Miller, die dafür die WankeTrophy, verliehen bekommen hat, hat 100 entzückende handgefertigte Mohair-Bärchen, hergestellt. Alle die
am Galaabend teilgenommen haben, bekamen eines dieser Miniaturbärchen. Jeder Bär ist ein Unikat und
sie alle haben verschiedene Namensschilder um!

Am Sonntag war dann die Verkaufsbörse und wie immer wurden tolle Sachen angeboten. Auch ich hatte
einen großen Koffer voll mit Schätzen, die den Delegierten sehr gefallen haben und mit Freude gekauft
wurden. Meine „Heinzelmännchen“ waren Michael mein Sohn und Yvonne meine Schwiegertochter! Danke
Euch beiden!!!
Leider gehen so schöne Tage immer sehr schnell vorbei und der Alltag holt jeden wieder ein. Aber alle erzählen das ganze Jahr über, wie sie die Tage genossen haben!
GDS Congress 2016 - Budapest
Und schon steht wieder ein neuer Kongress vor der Tür, im September, 20.09 bis 23 09.2016, in Budapest/
Ungarn!
The City
This is the capital of Hungary,
with 1.7 million population. It’s
history goes back to the Celts,
with the Hungarians settling here
around the end of the 9th century.
In the 15th century, King Matthias
rebuilt the city in the renaissance
style.
The Turks took control of the city
in 1546, and during their 150
year occupation the city was
ruined. In 1686, with Austrian
help, the Hungarians regained
the city and drove out the Turkish
from the country. From then on
Hungary’s history has been interwoven with Austria’s. In 1867 the
Austro-Hungarian monarchy was
founded, and from then, the city
started to evolve into a world city.
Budapest has more spa’s than
any other capital city, and one
of the biggest financial centres
in Middle Europe. It is one of
Europe’s most popular shopping
cities, with more malls than any
other city in Middle and Eastern Europe, it also offers many
concerts, exhibitions, and dance
performances.
1997, and nowadays has almost
80 members from every part of
the country. The Club co-organize
the National Doll Makers Contest,
providing the rules and the jury.
Based on the dollmakers previous accomplishments it awards a
master’s degree. The Club also
organize professional conferences on the topics of dolls and
toys, particularly doll making and
doll collecting. Thanks to these
conferences, Hungarian doll making found it’s way to the European elite, with several first and
second places achieved by its
members at the 2014 GDS event
in Thuringia.

Nowadays, it is a popular tourist
destination, with world heritage
sites such as the Castle of Buda,
the Heroes’ square, or the Millennium Underground Railway, which
is the second oldest underground
after London’s.
Credits
1. Established the Hungarian Doll friends Club’s in 1998.
2. Organizer of annual Hungarian doll conferences and exhibitions 1997-2015.
3. President of the National Doll making Contest since 1997.
4. Organizer of doll and teddybear exhibitions abroad: Vienna, Collegium Hungaricum – 3 times,
Bratislava, Bibione Children’s Centrum - 1 time.
5. Organizer of tours for groups to doll and toy festivals in Germany, and GDS conferences.
6. Organizer of the Baroque Wedding in Győr from 1993, which is a nationally known and recognized
festival every August.
The Event
The event will be special as it is
the first time Central Europe plays
host.
The programs are going to be interesting, a trip to another city that
hosts the best antique doll exhi-
bition in Hungary or exploring the
huge antiques market. Friday’s
boat trip with dinner on board
whilst viewing the glittering night
lights of Budapest, an unforgettable night.
The workshops will be lead by
world class Hungarian doll makers. From antique porcelain doll
making to gold embroidered doll
bags, teddy bears to pearl doll’s
jewelry, you will be able to find something to interest you .
The center of the conference Grand Hotel Margitsziget
Set on the peaceful Margaret Island located on the Danube. The
hotel sits within a park with ancient trees and surrounded by historic sights. Only 15 minutes from
the city center, a unique place in
the heart of Budapest, at the exit
from Árpád bridge. In this lovely
environment, the hotel is an ideal
place for the Event.
The Theme - Operetta
During the reign of the Emperor Franz Joseph many important buildings were constructed including the Opera houses in Vienna and Budapest. The operetta became popular with everyone. It is a musical
art, usually a love story told in prosaic monologues, mixed with light
melodies and humor. In the 1840’s the composers were Donizetti, Hervé, and Offenbach, but it only became a huge success at the end of the
19th century with operettas by the Austrians Suppé, Johann and Oscar
Strauss, the British Gilbert and Sullivan and the Hungarians Ferenc
Lehár and Imre Kálmán.
Convention Participation fee: 162 Eur
Workshop: the most expensive will be maximum 60 Euro – antique porcelain doll

Chapter-Ausflug
Fürs Frühjahr 2016 hätte ich einen Ausflug geplant.
Nach Gottlieben am Bodensee/Schweiz zu Annelies Z’Graggen!
Sie hat mir das netterweise angeboten.
Wohnen könntet Ihr in meiner Umgebung, Hotel Messmer, Hotel
Bodensee etc.
Die, die im Umkreis sind, können sich zusammensprechen und
direkt nach Gottlieben fahren!
(alle Vorarlberger und Schweizer z.B.)
Annelies meinte, man könnte miteinander Mittagessen und dann
einen Abstecher ins Puppenmuseum „Janine“
Im Schloß Giersberg (Graf Zeppelin) machen!
Jeder kann mir einen Terminvorschlag geben, dass wir uns dann
auf einen Termin festlegen können!

vor:
Kurzportrait von Christel Pangerl: Ausgefallene Hüte, edle Stoffe, hauchfeine Spitzen, edle Bordüren und
schillernde Knöpfe- sie haben mich immer schon fasziniert, und aus Nichts, habe ich etwas hübsches
gezaubert_: Kleider für meine Kinder, ihre Puppen und mich, Dekorationen und Accessoires. Die Liebe zu
schönen Materialien, harmonischen Formen und kreativer Tätigkeit, haben mich auf Umwegen, zu Puppen
gebracht. Ich bin mit Leib und Seele, den Porzellanpuppen verfallen. Bis ich allerdings, mit meiner ersten
Antik-Reproduktion zufrieden war, war ein sehr langer Weg, mit vielen schlaflosen Nächten. Inzwischen
modelliere ich sogar selbst und stelle meine eigenen modernen Künstlerpuppen her. Entweder, modelliere
ich ab Bild oder habe konkrete Vorstellungen, wie z.B. den Quetzalcoatl, eine Sagengestalt der Azteken. Ich
liebe es, genaue Abbildungen für Antikreproduktionen, herzustellen: die Kleidung ist von Hand genäht und
die Accessoires müssen sorgfältig ausgewählt werden – schließlich müssen die Puppen ja stilecht gekleidet
sein. Außer Schuhe und Perücken (was ich jedoch auch machen kann), mache ich alles selbst. Genauso
liebe ich es auch, meine eigenen Ideen kreativ umzusetzen. Manchmal grüble ich ewig lange darüber nach,
wie ich es machen soll – aber wenn ich die Idee einmal im Kopf habe, lässt sie mich nicht mehr los, bis das
Ergebnis so aussieht, wie ich es mir vorgestellt habel.
