From the Principal’s Desk Dear Partin Families, Thank you for the wonderful send-off you gave Dr. Windish for his promotion to principal of Carillon Elementary. He definitely felt the love and appreciation from all the students, staff, and families. As of Monday, October 26, I want to welcome Aimee Padilla as our new assistant principal. She has been an employee of Seminole County for the past seventeen years. Twelve of those were instructional years; which she spent teaching grades second through fifth at Red Bug and Wekiva Elementary. She also teaches at the college level at Rollins College as an adjunct professor. We are looking forward to her joining our Partin All Star family. She will be at the PTA Fall Festival on October 29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. We will have a special table for her in the dining room from 6:30-7:00 p.m. if you want to stop by and personally say hello. She will quickly see what a wonderful community she has become a part of here at Partin. Thank you always for all your support and dedication to our school and your child’s education. We'll do our part by giving you some suggestions to prepare you for this volunteer experience with an informative Teach-In Volunteer Guide. Simply fill out a Speaker Registration Form or contact your child’s teacher directly. You can always call the front office for more information. Car line Courtesy There are times that people have to pull out of a parking space once the car line has started to form in the afternoon, please be courteous and allow the car to do so. Thank you! Partin is a Bully Free Zone Bullying has, rightfully, gathered lots of attention in recent years and is a word that gets used often by the public. Someone who bullies repeatedly uses an imbalance of power (both perceived and actual) to physically, mentally, or socially hurt another. While single, one-time, incidents can be very serious and are addressed appropriately and proactively at Partin Elementary, they are not considered bullying unless the behavior continues and shows an imbalance. There are several resources for parents and students on our school website which address potential bullying situations. Two pamphlets are available: one has strategies for students, and the other one has strategies for parents. An anonymous reporting tool is available for those that wish to remain anonymous. The first line of defense against bullying is the students themselves. Always encourage students to “say something if they see something.” Teachers and other trusted adults at Partin are ready to help. We do provide Extended Day services in the cafeteria for those parents that need help prior to 8:00 AM. Registration and weekly rates apply for Extended Day. Lunch for October The following students have shown that All-Star Character Equals Success! Each month, teachers nominate students for exhibiting impressive character traits. Of these students, two from each grade level are randomly picked to have a special lunch with the principal, assistant principal, and guidance counselor. This year, Papa Murphy’s generously supplied us with pizzas for these lunches and our Partin Restaurant provided the students with cookies. Thanks to those great establishments for supporting this program and to the students for their great efforts!
