Message from Frank Reali, President
PRST STD U.S. POSTAGE PAID PERMIT #64 PORTLAND, ME 04101 May/June 2013 Issue No. 513 To: Message from Frank Reali, President I want to thank all the past Presidents, Board members, and members who attended the 60th Anniversary of the Italian Heritage Center. It was a great time. The results for the Volunteer of the Year for 2012 were very close. The winner was Barbara Pileggi. Thank you Barbara for all the work you do. It doesn’t go unnoticed. We have so many great volunteers who offer their services at the IHC. Kudos to John Rague and his volunteer work force for the amazing job they did on the Spring Clean Up. May 8 will be the last Member Luncheon before the summer season. I hope we have a great turnout for this. Please call in your reservation to Benita! I want to thank Jo Jo Ricci for her many years of service as chairperson of Health and Welfare. Due to health issues, she will no longer be able to do this. I want to thank Mary Keaney for accepting the position as Chairperson of Health and Welfare. She didn’t hesitate to say YES. A heartfelt thank you to all members for your continued support. Message from Kimberly McDonough, General Manager We have a very busy spring lined up. Many events are booked and wedding bookings are super strong for 2013/14. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tommy C. Ferrante who opens up the club every morning. Tommy is always willing to come in early if we need him and when I have early morning events and appointments, he makes sure everyone is attended to if they need anything. A few weeks ago, I had an appointment with a mother and daughter who were early for an appointment. When I arrived, they had coffee in their hands and told me about the nice man that greeted them; it was Tommy. Over the years, many of my clients and guests in general comment about how courteous and helpful he is, and many people just know him. People love the nostalgia! So, thank you Tommy from all the IHC staff for making guests and clients feel welcome, and for all the things you do to assist us.
