Dahlia Chalati ’06
Cynthia Joy
Ms. Chalati completed her Bachelor’s degree in Law at Université de Montréal.
During her studies, it became clear to her that she wanted to become a notary rather
than a lawyer. Therefore, instead of applying to the Barreau du Québec, she pursued a
Diplôme en droit notarial at Université de Montréal’s Faculté des etudes supérieures
en droit. Subsequently, she completed an eight month internship at a large notary firm
in Montreal. Currently, she is completing a Master’s degree combining notarial law
and new technology laws in collaboration with the Cyberjustice Laboratory and the
Quebec Chamber of Notaries. Her thesis is primarily focused on the making of
electronic authentic notarial deeds. She also founded her own firm and is practicing as
a notary and legal consultant.
Cynthia Joy is the Director Marketing and Business Development at Air Canada
Cargo and is responsible for the commercial direction and growth of the cargo
division of the airline. With close to $500 million in revenues and a network that
serves over 150 destinations, the challenge continues to be to grow the business
within the confines of a passenger airline. Ms. Joy has close to 25 years of experience
at Air Canada including six years in the maintenance division, eight years in various
passenger marketing functions, two years leading key change management projects
through Six Sigma as well as seven years as Director of Alliances responsible for the
overall strategy and relationships with each of its international airline partners,
including the 23 members of Star Alliance.
Stephanie Ellner
Ms. Joy has a degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from
Concordia University.
Stephanie began her university career at McGill University, where she majored in
Psychology. When the time came to apply for graduate school and choose a
professional career path, Stephanie decided to pursue her passion for social justice
issues. Ready for an adventure, Stephanie excitedly moved to New York to begin the
Master of Social Work program at NYU. The internship component of the program
provided Stephanie with experience related to substance abuse treatment and
counselling with at-risk youth. Following her graduation in 2009, Stephanie began her
first job as a social worker in an alternative school program for overage, undercredited youth. In August 2012, Stephanie decided to accept a position at Batshaw
Youth and Family Centres in Montreal, where she is currently employed. Stephanie is
gaining invaluable knowledge and experience at Batshaw and is looking forward to
exploring what the future may hold!
Natasha Gargiulo
Natasha's passion for television started at a young age when she watched her father
anchor the Italian news. Her curiosity eventually led her to complete a specialization
and Bachelor's degree in Communications Studies at Concordia University.
Natasha started her career behind the scenes in radio as promotions coordinator. She
also reported on traffic and lent her voice to radio commercials, eventually making her
way on-air as Miss Daisy. Natasha went on to host documentaries and host a weekly
magazine show. Natasha joined the Global Quebec News team during the summer of
2003 as evening weather reporter and "Summer in the City" entertainment reporter.
She is also a proud member of the Entertainment Tonight Canada team. Natasha is
currently the co-host of Freeway and Natasha on Virgin radio and proud mom of
Leticia, her 2 ½ year old daughter.

at Spiegel Sohmer Inc. in Montreal.
Allen McInnis
Allen McInnis, well-known Montreal photojournalist, is a two-time winner of the
Canadian Press Picture of the Year award and recipient of the Canadian National
Newspaper award. His first published assignment was when he was in sixth grade
elementary school, which appeared in the local newspaper. He still has that clipping
somewhere. Since Mr. McInnis comes from a long line of photographers, his early
interest and success is not surprising. Both his father and his uncle were passionate
professional photographers and this passion started as far back as his grandfather who
was a part-time photographer.
Mr. Mcinnis currently works for the Montreal Gazette but also works for different
publications such as: Maclean’s magazine, the Globe and Mail, the National Post , and
Time and Men’s Fitness and finds that “the variety of what I do is partly what keeps it
fun.” Mr. McInnis even works for The Study and has been a key contributor to our
Trillium magazine and our website for over ten years now. Mr. McInnis has won 3
Grafika awards for magazine photography.
Mr. McInnis describes some of his inspiring moments as being in Ansel Adams’ house
and his dark room, being on a project in Haiti in the 90’s during the coup d’état and
again after the earthquake.
Josephte McNamara
Dr. Heather Pim
Josephte McNamara began her career as a teacher and taught English, French and
Drama in various private schools, including The Study, where she spent most of her
teaching years. In 2002, she returned to university to study Psychology and ultimately
became a psychologist. She worked at Sacred Heart School for four years as the
school psychologist and presently works in Westmount in private practice. Dr. Pim was born and raised in the West Island of Montreal. She attended
Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School where she graduated as the Salutatorian
of my class. She loved to figure skate and was a cheerleader and coach for the
Northshore Cheerleading Association for many years. After high school, she
pursued her studies in Health Sciences at Marianopolis College from 1992-1994
and then went on to do a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Concordia
University where she graduated with distinction in 1999. Pursuing a career in
research, she completed her Masters in Science at McGill University in the
department of Neurology and Neurosurgery from 1999-2001. During that time
she worked in a hospital with patients, she fell in love with the medical field and so
instead of pursuing her original plan of doing a PhD, she decided to apply to
medical school. In 2001, she started her medical education at the University of
Laval in Quebec City. In 2002, she married her first love whom she met when she
was 14 years old. She returned to Montreal in 2005 to start her residency in
Neurology at the University of Montreal that she completed in 2012. During her
residency, she had 2 beautiful children, Sophia who is 6 and Aleksandar James
(A.J.) who is 2 years old. She is currently completing her fellowship training in
headache and pain medicine at McGill University and has accepted a position at
the University of Montreal Hospital Centre in the department of Neurology at
Notre-Dame Hospital.
Josephte holds two degrees from St.Francis Xavier University (B.A.
English/Mathematics and B.Ed); a Master’s degree from Concordia University in
English Literature; and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from McGill
University.
She is thrilled to be back at The Study, a place that has always been dear to her heart
Dr. Jane Pappas
Dr. Pappas deals with how genes are turned on and off. If you have a deadly form of
a cancer gene that you inherited from your long deceased mom for example, you
might want to know how you can turn it off.
Dr. Pappas’ degrees include:
• Postdoctoral Fellowship, UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO
• Postdoctoral Fellowship, STANFORD UNIVERSITY
• PhD, McGILL UNIVERSITY
• Master's, UNIVERSITE DE MONTREAL
• Bachelor, McGILL UNIVERSITY
• DEC, COLLEGE DE BOIS-DE-BOULOGNE
It is the most exciting field in medicine today. It takes another look at biology and
rewrites the books, this time focusing on just how flexible it can be rather than simply
something we inherit and can't do anything about.
Dr. Pappas is the mother of Madelyne Ayoub, grade 1.
Her career path is an example of a long and winding road but she believes that
there is truth in the saying that “ you can do anything if you put your mind to it …
and you will succeed when you put your heart into it.” (Daniella Kessler,
Observations, 2009).
Lauren Rudolph ’05
After graduating from The Study in 2005, Lauren Rudolph went on to
Marianopolis College, where she studied Commerce and ranked within the top
two students in her faculty, and then she obtained a Commerce degree at McGill
University, where she graduated on the Dean’s List. Lauren began her career in the
fashion industry by working as an Assistant Brand Manager at the global luxury
brand Michael Kors for three years. Today, Lauren is an Associate Brand Manager
for the global cookware brand Le Creuset. Lauren is a young businesswoman who
has a strong grasp on what it takes to pursue a career in Brand Management and
Business Development. In her spare time, Lauren is a passionate sports and fitness
devotee, and is training to compete in her first half-marathon and triathlon.

Monument-National, Place des Arts, Espace Go and at the Segal Centre for
the Performing Arts. In 2003, the Montreal Gazette named Porte Parole
