The word, ‘voca'on’, however, comes from the word vocare (‘to call’), and refers to God calling us into being. When we are ‘called into being’ our lives express our sense of awe and gra'tude uniquely, and every life points to the One who creates all life. It isn’t easy (or to our liking some'mes) to live our ‘calling’. We oGen prefer something that is more simula'ng; something that feels more important; something that allows us to feel as though we are the source of our own being. This is what the Scriptures understand as idolatry: we are worshipping a god of our own making. Many of us vacillate between the being that God creates and the being that we create. One way that we can know that we are living our true ‘calling’ is when expediency is absent. God is good. Parish updates: We have signed the contract to have chairliGs installed in the stairwell nearest the parking lot. Hopefully the liGs will provide the help that those who have trouble climbing the stairs need. The Lenten Season begins Wednesday, February 10th. Ashes will be distributed at both the 9:00am Mass and the 7:00pm Mass. (If you have palm and would like to donate it to the Parish, we will have receptacles available at the church doors.) Finally, we will begin our annual Catholic Charity Fund Appeal the first two weekends of Lent. (Mail regarding the Appeal might be received before these two weekends. We are free to either pledge/donate via mail or during a weekend Mass.) fr. tim New Chorus in Town … The Chorus of Kent County, is ready to welcome new members for the 2016 Spring Season!
